newscenter 5's john atwater is there with the dramatic rescue. john: an amazing rescue here tonight. this man was out in the chilly water for 40 hours. he's he is walking off the helicopter that had just rescued him from the water. he gets a big hug from his family, absolutely relieved. video of that rescue a quarter-mile off crane beach. this is a coast guard helicopter hovering above the water and a diver being lifted with that swimmer out of the water to safety. police say the man and his son-in-law went for a swim around 5:30 p.m., they are experienced swimmers, they do this a couple times a week police say there was zero visibility and there were very strong currents. the younger of the two made it to shore on his own but his father-in-law was out there and they are experienced swimmers and they did the right thing and did not panic. that assisted with our rescue. everyone did great job and things do not usually turn out this good. we are glad for that outcome. john: thickly, both of these swimmers are expected to be ok. head: also breaking,
