austria has asked people to go into quarantine for quite a while now. when i returned from italy to austria. back then, it was very difficult to get a private test done, so i had to self—isolate for two weeks. and now anybody arriving at vienna airport for example has to sign a paper saying they will go into self—isolation, usually at home, but vienna airport is now offering the possibility for people to pay for a private test to see if they are currently infected with covid—i9 on the spot at the airport. there is a lab there where people can go and get the test done, and within several hours, they will know whether they are infected or not, and if they come with a negative test, then the need for the quarantine falls away. now, it is not cheap. it costs around 200 euros to do this, and the executives at the airport say that this is not something that is feasible if you have thousands of people arriving at the airport every day. the lab simply does not have the capacity. it does mean that people who have a need need for urgent travel right at the moment
