the next significant action is for this board and the transportation authority board to decide on a locally preferred alternative. in a design alternatives current what should the city move forward with? we are targeting data for march of next year. this sly gives you a breakdown of some of the major components of the project budget. we had to revise this slide so i will speak to the key points in this. the information has changed slightly since this slide was originally prepared. the brt improvements have would be made, depending on the options, it would range from $67 million to $210 million. in are a number of things the need to be implemented, including new bosses, the repaving of the street, the overhead system, in the 49 commission uses as well as upgrading the signaling system. when all of those elements are taking into nomination, the projects range from $162 million to $216 million. we have a variety of funding from many sources, federal, state, and local. totaling about $175 million. depending on the alternative that is chosen, we either have the funding or we have a small gap tha

a member of the high speed rail authority board clarified the schedule for comment on the business plan that is out there now, that was released on november 1. the idea is that the authority, the high-speed rail authority, will take comments at a hearing today in palo alto and then on december 6 in san francisco. then they will consider incorporating all of those comments and directing the mine some fashion. then at that yuri one, are the first week of february, the intention of the meeting to approve the revised plan that might incorporate those comments. only after that, the 60-day timespan, will the legislature kick in. so there's time to organize commons, even beyond the two hearings that are already scheduled. i think that is time that is welcome to, because we probably need to make some additional comments on that. finally, i wanted to announce that i am pleased to report that we have received two grants in san francisco from the value pricing program at the federal level. one grant for $1.5 million is going to a joint venture of the sfmta and the city car share for electric bike

we identified this need through our joint work last fall when we came to the authority board for appropriation to support the overall planning and project development activities of both agencies on july 22 we did issue an rfp for overcalling technical support services. we held two pre-proposal conferences. we agree to use the small enterprise program to ensure we would have significant local participation and minority and women-owned participation. out reach that we did throughout this process to anchorago encoue firms to sign up for the conferences, eight ethnic organizations, including the asian american contractors association, hispanic chamber of commerce and african american chamber of commerce, as well as women-owned organizations and offices here in san francisco. we also put advertisements out through the common cro"the chrod emailed out. the result was good. we had good participation amongst the three proposals that qualified and very strong firms. we did interview all three firms, and the team led by kimley horn and associates is here and audience. it does include 51% small business
