autozone, there's one that's always been a buyer on weakness. it shrinks the float and it also has worked if you take a look at the long-term chart for azo. buy backs by themselves are no reason to buy a stock, and in some cases are actually reason to sell it. no company is wasting money it needs to survive on buy backs, or spending money it doesn't even have has proven fruitless. and you shouldn't rely on even the largest buy back to help prop up a stock if the situation is dire. the way i see it, these are false signs of health and too often just a darn waste of shareholders money.
