accuweather's ava dinges is here with more. hi, ava. >> good morning, rob and mike. talk about a role reversal here. nothing going on in the east. all of it happening in the west. for the northeast, things are looking good for the next several days. next time new york city gets anything, that will be in the weekend. and it will come in as some rain. we've seen lots of rain in the west. pretty heavy across oregon and through much of california in the overnight hours. this is mainly shifting southward, where we're starting to see colder air sink in behind the storm. that's going to translate into heavier mountain snow. high winds is a concern along the grapevine in southern california. for los angeles, much of the rain pushing in throughout the morning hours. any additional rain could lead to minor flooding. in the good news is, this is a quick-moving storm, where it will move out in the afternoon. it will go pummel the rockies, and into salt lake city. for the southeast, it's been chilly over the past couple of days. fortunately, temperatures are warming up. it will b

good morning, ava. >> reporter: good morning, rob and vinita. we've been talking about the heavy snow in the east. it's been all about the rain in the northwest. especially along the cascades and back into the olympics, into washington. seattle has seen about 4 inches of rain just over the last two days. they're going to get another inch or two just throughout today, leading to additional flooding concerns. eventually the temperatures will be dropping down, into the cascades. that will be changing into heavy snow. heavy snow continues into the great lakes as cold winds pour over the great lakes, more heavy snow in northern indiana, eastern ohio, upstate new york. some locations have seen a foot of snow. they could another another foot or more throughout the day. all the way into florida. starting off the day, cities like jacksonville barely into the teens. cities like orlando, into the 20s. even miami, near record 35 to start off their morning hours. they may need to grab winter coats as they step outdoors. in the northwest, still watching that
