this the bridge that connects avalon and sea isle. it was shut down about an hour ago because of safety concerns of the storm surge. and the flooding. if you know this bridge, you see those nor'easter just does some damage to this bridge. it will stay closed until at least saturday night. now, shore homeowners kept busy today laying down those sand bags in anticipation of the coastal flooding that's expect expected. especially in these low-lying areas. if you live down the shore, you have interest down here you know the drill. it doesn't take long for these streets to flood down here we saw people boarding up their garages with plywood. borough officials in avalon will be stepping out a reverse 911 call tonight warning residents to plan for a long weekend ahe ahead. we're concerned about saturday morning high tide event for the jersey shore where we are in avalon it appears to be moderate coastal flooding and really the winds in this storm are going to be a big deal into the latter part of friday and overnight into saturday morning. g

as mentioned, the partnership between avalon way and bridge housing and includes mission housing, habitat for humanity, and development company, representatives from the development team are hear with us in the audience today. finally, last november, the commission authorized an agreement between the city and this development team. since then, we have been working with them to refine their initial proposal and take it through the city's pre-development process. the resolution before you includes two supporting documents. the first is the development overview i'm going to go over. the second will be explained in further detail. the development overview describes the project in in broad strokes. the project adheres to those principles and parameters created with the c.a.c., yet many design details remain to be worked out. the design team will continue to work through the environmental review process. so the broad strokes include approximately 1,100 housing units. although, we anticipate that a range of units will be analyzed in the environmental review process. 18% of the housing units will

avalon can find other land to buy all around the city, but the little patch of land, the little precious 17 acres that has been used by city college for the last decades should stay for the public benefit. there's different little neighborhood classes and people ride their bicycles there. it should stay for community good. there's 65,000 units right now in the pipeline that have already been approved for housing elsewhere in the city. so the urgency for housing has not been met -- i'm sorry. is already being met by all of these other housing projects in the pipeline. i beg you to not approve this until -- first of all, the pac should be built and the negative impact on this should be taken into consideration.
