supervisor avalos: just another question.s sense we're putting these resources for successful pedestrian stops along areas along the van ness brt and potentially the geary brt as well. all part of that project. with the overall plan in the city in terms of how we look at these types of crossings and overall plan? will we cover a certain part of the entire city? how is that being addressed? >> i will have mta address that as well, actually. >> i would like to clarify and, was the question about pedestrian signals or crossings? supervisor avalos: it is around successful pedestrian signals and audible countdown signals as well. it seems to be in areas where we have lots of transit, high pedestrian coverage. is there a plan that we want to get to a certain year to cover most of the city or the entire city? what is the overall mission, long-term plan for the city and around this? >> there is a strong desire on the part of our agency to try to fill in about 300 or so under sections in the city without pedestrians signals. we are tr

supervisor avalos. supervisor avalos: i would like to follow the recommendations on the revolving loan fund. i feel we made the allocation earlier this year. not all the funds have been spent. i do think if there is an additional need at a later time, we can look at a supplemental. we did that in the current year. we're doing that -- doing that next year might be a way of doing that for the city's commitment to the demand. there are huge amounts of support we're giving the commercial corridors and small- business. i think the greatest effort should be placed on how we're programming the existing funds we're setting in motion. i am not clear to what extent these programs are going to serve district 11 and other places in greater need for compensatory investment that do not necessarily happen in these parts of san francisco. my motion would be that we accept the budget analyst recommendation on the policy recommendation for the revolving loan fund. supervisor chu: thank you. supervisor kim. i did get the

supervisor avalos: a quick question. has there been an assessment of the critical response team and its role in getting services to victims' families, bringing communities together? has there been an assessment on what could be done -- >> we are in a constant assessment of that. we are doing an evaluative with dcyf but we are constantly looking at how to respond and be better in our services. just recently, i myself got involved in trying to look at how to develop and operations plan for the crn's and crt's. we see that as an ongoing process to improve our services. supervisor avalos: i was not questioning the services itself, but what was in the future, what began plan to do to have a much greater response to meet our community needs. >> absolutely. we look at what we do today and future needs. i would expand our team more. i will be looking at that next year in the budget. i do think we have developed the crt without new funding, taking staff from other services to develop this, so i do not want to expand services for

thank you, supervisor avalos, foyer consistent stand. this is not just an omi issue, this is a city-wide issue. i want to commend the efforts of malia cohen and hurt addressing this issue of violence. i am assured that you will continue to work. i wanted to say quickly, supervisor avalos, you and i have been doing this for 10 years. there are some lessons learned. one of the primary things we have to do is ensure continuity of services. you heard the woman speak before regarding the the permit a public health saying that 80%, 90% of people are responding to these incidents. uni know that that is not right. i want to commend the efforts under way by the housing authority to bring more synergy to the response. it is not a police problem exclusively. it is a combined problem. every department needs to be pulled back and looked at a quarterly basis to quantify best practices. it is not a department of children youth problem because they do not have the authority to exceed other departments that need to be part of the discussion. i want to en

supervisor avalos: of course. actually, it has been a great program for my district, especially longfellow -- longfellow which is on the t we have had leadership from the parents, students, -- students, and teachers. >> it has become part of the culture at longfellow. back to the -- just a quick overview of our program deliverables. we have the education portion, a kindergarten classroomñc%+÷ lesn where we talk about the various ways of getting to and from school with the benefits of walking and biking. one of our partners goes in and as a classroom lesson in the second grade were they actually take a small field trip around the school, and the practice crossing the street, talking about different ways of walking around safely in the city. the fourth grade lesson, two lessons for the come in and practice putting on a helmet properly, and then they actually do a bike rodeo in the schoolyard. you can see for each of those lessons, they reach 40 to 50 classrooms and approximately 1000 students in each of the grades i
