after a gas tanker fire just north of saratoga avenue. traffic just starting to thin out in the area tonight. all northbound and southbound lanes were shut down. southbound lanes have re- opened. but only one northbound lane is open at this time. drivers started calling 9-1-1 after seeing the tanker on fire around 8 o'clock tonight. flames shooting out the back of it. we're told the fire likely started on the *outside of the truck... not in the gas tank. once they got the fire under control... they had to check to see if the tanker is leaking. hazmat crews were also called in: 21:28:09 "...initially there was 20 to 30 foot flames coming from the second trailer and there was about 8000 gallons of fuel combined between two trailers so as a precaution we did have extra units on scene,..."
