averi. mandatory evacuations are still in place because of flooding in parts of san jose. what we can do. thanks averi. we will check back with you through out the morning. happening now... people are working to pump the floodwater out of their homes. restoration companies worked into the night to help pump water out of peoples' properties. that can cost people more than two thousand dollars, some of it is covered by flood insurance, but not everyone who spoke to us has it. two restoration companies we spoke to say they pumped water out of 50 homes yesterday. the american red cross is helping people who have been forced out of their homes many of those who were evacuated went to the evacuation center at james lick high school. the other evacuation center is at evergreen valley high school. volunteers were busy yesterday... trying to help all those who were evacuated from there homes. more than 300 people had to be rescued by boat... the red cross is providing food and a cots to sleep on. off
