mohyeldin. ann guerin, white house correspondent for "the washington post." aymanbring us up to speed on the protests with iran. what do we know? >> we know they're continuing. they started thursday. we're seeing the momentum of the protests continue to grow, continue to expand, geographically. it started in the eastern part of the country on thursday, predominantly with a lower socioeconomic class, more the working class types. over the past several days, the nature has changed from being a purely economic complaint or demonstrate to one now that has taken a slightly political sing to it with some of the chants and demonstrations against the religious leadership of the country and that can be a turning point for those sitting on the sidelines particularly the strong security services, the besiege in the iranian rogc, the revolutionary guard corps. giving the president a chance to deal with, if he can't, they will weigh in on it. what we're watching from the protester side is the durability of the demonstrations, how long can they go for and if they are spreading.
