so b.j., how bad is he hurting his credibility with these stories going back and forth, especially when key witness in seeing this case go ford ward? >> well, his credibility in the public form, but the truth is, there's so much we don't know that the investigators know. remember that the grand jury indictment is an outline of this case he's in touch with these victims and they have a lot to say and proebt mcqueary does as well. in an e-mail trying to protect himself after this outrage, we have to hope when it gets down to the time of court when the time of truth where this really has to come out, he will be completely truthful about what he saw, what he did. there are two people indict wd the university because they knew. one worked with the police dmt. so the fact they don't have a quote paper report doesn't necessarily mean that somebody at that place and that maybe telling the truth and he did and in fact, we know that the indictment allegations that through paterno, that information was given. again, i know there's a lot here, but we have to stay focused on the long run and these v

jason, stand by because i want to bring in b.j. shekter with si.com.j., as jason sort of alluded to, how this is sort of rocking big college football, specifically we have to talk about joe he paterno, his legacy. the guy is 84 years of age, he's been a coach for 60-plus years. how does this affect his legacy? >> well, this affects everything about his legacy, and if all of these allegations are true, this is what he's going to be remembered for ultimately. i mean, he's done a lot of great things in his career, but if it is true that he did, in fact, know about the severity of this allegation that was witnessed by one of his assistant coaches, a graduate assistant, and he simply advised his superior and did nothing more, did not call police, as is required by law in pennsylvania, then, you know, it goes way beyond college athletics. it's his civic responsibility, it's a morality issue, you know. we're talking about -- we're not talking about scandal like we've seen in college athletics. we're talking about something that's very criminal, and we now kno
