b.k., what are you seeing? >> there's a lot of moving parts with oil. you had mentioned china earlier. that is one thing that has been baked into this already. we already know that story. but i wanted to focus more importantly on the u.s. fundamentals and the fundamentals behind what's going on in oil. so first chart i have here, u.s. crude oil production. now, remember, we have had a massive decline in rig counts. we were up about 1600 rigs. we're now down in the 700, 800 and even today we actually picked up a little bit in rig counts. even though rig counts have cut in half, look at this this. four-week moving average of oil production in the u.s. it's been going up. it's stabilized and may be turning down here. but we're seeing producing an awful lot of oil with half the amount and even less than half the amount of rigs. so when i look at oil, let's take a look at the next chart i've got here. here's crude oil. and we're looking at a couple major things. we had the big drop-off. that was the initial panicked selling of oil. down here we've got $41 ma

. >> at the same time to b.k.'s point. could what we saw in europe overnight, could that have been partly also a short covering rally? you take a look at the move in the euro, at first it was really strong. it died down by the end of the day. it doesn't seem to me to signal anything too bullish. >> i agree. to josh's point. the european bourses had been in down trends. if it can't hold next week on the news, if they sell the news do that's troubling. the one thing is about the s&p 500 over here. we weren't too bothered with all this volatility in europe over the last few weeks. we were down 3% from the all-time highs made in late may. but just in general it's been a pretty orderly period for u.s. equities here. flight to quality. >> trb, do you practice that line? i thought you rested just a little bit. good job by you. >> you know what that refers to? >> it's a u2 album. come on. that's right in my bailiwick. >> guy is like the head of dad twitter. i'm pretty sure he knows a u2 album when he hears it. >> last friday we sa

b.k. is on that plan, as well. i happen to agree i don't think it will go as low as they think. we are at levels we last saw in early 2012. it is critical that the stock holds effectively right here $51. play it from the long side and do it against the 2012 low which is basically $51. >> i was talking this week and said why would you invest in oil stocks now? don't you need a higher wti trade? he said yes. catching a falling knife at this point. >> yeah, so my view is oil goes lower since the dollar will go higher and we'll have raul on. not only that, think about the dynamic, all these companies still pumping oil. they can't get the price that they want so they have to pump more oil. to me, to try to catch this falling knife is way, way too early in oil. >> yeah, by the way, rig count, just because rig counts go lower, doesn't mean they pump more oil. >> cut in half and production is the same. >> all right. next up, t-mobile ending higher by more than 4% after a solid second quarter and t

i'm with b.k. i love the story, i don't see how you pay up 20% from an hour ago. >> again, the amazon conference call is going on now. we'll need to listen this carefully to see if it can hold onto the massive gains. for for more, let's bring in bob on the legendary red phone. web services was huge. what did you like about the quarter. it expanded with a 31% growth. that's driven by the japan changes. awso accelerated to 81% but all acceleration on growth done on better profits, for gross profit from 29 and the operating margins expanded in north america to 500 from 300. big expansion there. units accelerated, all across the board it was faster growth, better profitability. the big thing to listen for the conference call is the they go through periods of harvesting. the question will be will they go back into an investing mode? >> what do you want to see from them at this point? >> the numbers we just saw are sustainable. that it's not just a harvesting mode. they can keep these margins and growth
