i'm at that plaza in downtown half moon bay, right across from half moon bay city hall. this is right in the heart of downtown half moon bay on main street. the city has opened up this plaza for people to come and mourn. we've seen people coming by leaving flowers and notes and candles just to share and give their condolences to the eight people shot, seven people killed in half moon bay. over about a mile away at a church, a service just wrapped up. it started at 6:00. these are live pictures. it was an interfaith prayer service. the public was invited to come to pay their respects to those who died and pray for healing and for peace for everyone impacted by this horrific tragedy. the city says it will also be holding a vigil in the coming days, but we do not know a date, time, or place yet. as for the investigation, the sheriff's office saying today seven people lost their lives due to workplace violence. that is the motive right now. they said it's not a hate crime. this was not an act of domestic terrorism but workplace violence. the suspect, 66-year-old chunli zhao

area from the north bay over santa rosa, napa, of course the east bay as well. all along the peninsula, which of course has gotten hit very hard the last couple of days and the santa cruz mountains. you can't see it there but there is a little pocket of orange. that is a lot of rainfall. we are expecting upwards of 6 inches of rain as the storm system pushes on through. monday lunchtime also a lot of rain. by the evening hours we start to see a little better conditions before we get hit with more rain on tuesday, so it's a very active forecast we've got going on. not only here in the bay area but up in tahoe. this area of pink that stretches from tahoe into areas of yosemite is that winter storm warning we've been telling about lasting through wednesday morning. the snow piling up in feet over the next couple of days with upwards of more than 2 feet of snow plus in those upper elevations above 7,000 feet. gusts there also very strong. hazardous conditions. please don't drive there if you don't have to. snowpack, though, this is the silver lining in all of this.
