two small earthquakes rattled the bay area. the most recent quick hit 20 minutes ago in the hills south of gilroy. it was a small magnitude 2.5 quake, but our size mow graph right here picked up a little something, you can see. one of our nbc bay area staffers said it was quick, lasted about five seconds. this is several hours after a small quake rattled the east bay. i felt this one. it was along the berkeley/oakland border. the usgs said it was a 3.2. no reports of injuries or damage. >>> and while the shaking was mostly concentrated in the east bay, people in san francisco and san jose reported feeling it, too. the owner of bill's trading post in berkeley tells us she felt the shaking, but didn't cause anything to fall off her shelves. she says even though the quake was small, it left her feeling uneasy. >> we were helping a customer and he was talking to us right under that arch, and he moved, as he moved, we felt the whole building shake. my coworker looked outside and saw basic bird window sort of shaking. >> yeah, i was

things do look good for the most part in the south bay and over in the north bay.at's been turned over and essentially it is now leaking oil. so right here on the connector of to 38 on to 8.80, southbound lanes, it's going to be closed. the 8.80, northbound lanes are open. however, we are going to start to see a lot of congestion in this area. taking a look at 5.80, little bit more inland area right now. the commute isn't too bad. you can see it's 11 minutes from livermore to dublin, but eventually at some point this morning, we will start to see 5.80, get a little bit backed up. taking a look at some drive times for those of you who are heading over towards the maze right now, crockett to them a 16 minute commute, walnut creek to 5, 8, 11 minute commute. castro valley to the maze, 13 minute commute, stanley and or to the mays. an 11 minute commute. taking a live look at the bay bridge right now. only 8 minutes to get into the city from the maze. not too bad. those metering lights are not on just quite yet. a live look at the san mateo bridge, 13 minute commute to

on the east bay.d a pedestrian in oakland stopping pretty early yesterday morning. right in the area 75th and silly and a street nearly coliseum. bart station police haven't identified the victims as of yet. 2 people in the north bay were arrested for allegedly running a chop shop. detectives say the suspects they were altering stolen cars out of unlicensed vehicle repair shop in santa rosa. they say they found 7 cars stolen and several others that were in the process of being repaired. >> changes are coming to the martinez refining company after a lawsuit settlement with the bay area. air quality management district sued the refinery over what it said was an unacceptable number of hazardous releases. the refinery had 21 spills or releases in one year alone as part of the settlement, the martinez refining company needs to reduce emissions by 70%. although the company says that plans to do better than that and reduce emissions by 80%. california school superintendent is trying to crack down on hate inc
