this is nbc bay area news. tonight. i'm audrey asistio and we begin with two developing stories in oakland, including the fbi e feds searched at least four. homes, including the home of oakland mayor sheng thao. agents first showed up around 6:00 this morning.ei were startled by all the noise as the day went on. our cameras spotted several investigators bringing boxes and plastic bins outside of that house. law enforcement sources also tell us that the mayor's house is one of four places where search warrants were executed in oakland today, and two of the other homes searched appear to have links with two people with deep ties to both city politics and city business, according to property records. one home belongs to david wong, who is the ceo of california waste solutions. that's a local waste management company. property records show that the other home belongs to duong's son, andy. the duong family has also been tied to mayor sheng thao before. both are referenced in a 2020 city ethics complaint alleging campaign fin

cbs news bay area app.t's going on locally here in the bay area. we talk abilities fire season and we always think about winds and relative humidity. right? well, today is going to be a breezy day so just keep that in mind and you will definitely notice it as we head in this afternoon. wind speeds right now anywhere up to around 5 to 10 miles per hour along the coastline to the south of the peninsula. just north closer to bodega bay it's already breezy right now. and heading into this afternoon, this is the 2:00 hour. wind speedsny up to around 30 miles per hour expected close to san francisco. we continue to see that trend closer to dinner time in the evening hours tonight. now other than that that's going to be widespread throughout the bay area. the big weather story for us is the lack of heat. daytime highs today are starting to cool down fast. and we notice that a lot more in the inland areas than we do necessarily along the coast. for example, yesterday san francisco all the way down into half-moon ba

in fact, every single site right now, north bay to south bay, reading in the good levels.ant to also get you to that hourly forecast on the smoke first, because it was so bad earlier in the week, it might have had you just kind of staying inside to avoid that smoke and as we head through tomorrow morning, notice the key at the top. and then look at the colors here. we're mainly into this hazy category. the blue to also green. you got the sites fire here off to the north and colusa county. and really as we head through tomorrow, we'll just continue to see some haze, just kind of drift around the bay area with the worst of that smoke staying right near the sites fire itself. so right now we're looking at good to maybe slipping into the moderate category on that air quality as you roll through tomorrow's forecast. so still may need to limit your outdoor exposure a little bit in the north bay. but i think overall it doesn't look nearly as bad as what we had to start the week. okay next big change in the weather here is this area. high pressure building in across the pacific mo

north bay, inland east bay and santa clara valley. really convey accurately enough where the concern is for heat. because it's really for everybody. when we look at the numbers in one second you will see why. so the next issue i want you to see is the heat risk map that's for today. pretty much the entire bay is included in some degree on here. most of us are in orange. if you are in orange, the wording on that is, you have got a moderate degree of heat related health impacts. the take away from that is go easy on yourself today. look at the numbers. today's daytime highs across the bay are in the low 90s. we've done this before in the santa clara valley. but you haven't quite done it from a transition where you were in the mid 70s one day to go to low 90s. look inland and concord you have not done that number yet. that will be the first time you get within one degree of 100. for those inland east bay communities, this is the hottest day of this season so far for san francisco, at 80 degrees. you were 67 yesterday. huge differences. a

you got to love the bay area. half moon bay right now at 68 degrees.hile we have those mid and upper 90s inland. now as we move through tomorrow's forecast high pressure that brought the heat today. it's still with us. but the key change we're going to see as we roll through tomorrow is it's going to move a little bit more off towards the east. so that's why i only see one more day of this. and with it moving more off to the east, it is going to help some fog to form here at the coastline doesn't look super thick, but that is going to be a little bit more of a change here for us as we head into your wednesday forecast, that fog at the coastline, maybe some patchy fog near the bay and then through the afternoon. lots of sunshine for the bay area except the coastline does look like some of that fog is going to linger for us. and i do think that's going to begin to drop off the coastal peninsula. and bay numbers just a little bit for tomorrow. so as we started off, i got you down here to 59 over the peninsula for the north bay. you're going to 63 to start

this is in sonoma county today in the bay's bob redell joins us live from the east bay. and bob berkeley firefighters will be concerned throughout the morning and into the day. they'll be working throughout the east bay foothills. good morning to ginger and marcus. but people should not be alarmed. this is just a drill. as you can see on this map, firefighters from the berkeley fire department and other agencies, they'll participate in wildfire fire training at three locations grizzly peak, tilden regional park and kensington, the department says. don't be surprised to see firefighters in yellow uniforms in those hills, so there's no need to call 911. again, this is just an exercise. these are annual drills that are happening tomorrow, wednesday, friday between 830 in the morning and 230 in the afternoon. now we are keeping an eye on two wildfires up north in sonoma county. you got the firefighters who are close to containing the point fire, which has burned more than 1200 acres between geyserville and las lomas. one firefighter was hurt. three structures were destroyed,

meanwhile, the main commute coming toward the bay bridge throughout the east bay and the north bay, everythingks pretty standard as far as that build. back to you. all right. thank you. mike. now, we've been talking this morning about that sideshow in oakland. we now have new details in the chaotic weekend. sideshow near santana row in san jose. san jose police sharing new images of two arrests. they made two suspect they are being charged with inciting a riot, assaulting a peace officer and felony vandalism. authorities arrested both suspects in san juan bautista. a third person was arrested earlier this week and video from the sideshow last saturday in san jose shows people vandalizing that police cruiser, stomping on the windshield while an officer was inside. now in the north bay, the last evacuation orders have been lifted in the point fire. that wildfire now has burned about 1200 acres since sunday. it destroyed two homes and other structures. containment now at 60. and also this morning, firefighters in colusa county are getting some containment on the sites. fire. it has burned nearly

to the inland east bay down in the south bay. look for a high of 89 at san jose, so that heat advisory for the bay area is still in effect, covering all parts of the bay area except the bay shoreline and the coast. and that means that under these conditions, of course, there's an elevated risk of heat related illness. for solano county, this is an excessive heat warning, which is more severe, of course, than just a heat advisory. and if you're thinking of going to the beach to cool off, well, we have beach hazards to keep in mind, so might not be the safest place to go. we've got elevated wave heights, a risk of sneaker waves and rough surf, and that's in effect until tomorrow evening as well. here's the accuweather seven day forecast. so tomorrow still warm inland, but no triple digits. then on friday we get some real cooling with inland highs barely reaching 90 degrees. in fact, friday saturday and sunday. very comfortable weather certainly compared with what we've had the last couple of days. highs just reaching into the upper

looking across the bay toward the bay bridge from our exploratorium camera.will be mild tomorrow. cooler than today, though, and that will be just one day of cooling because tuesday and wednesday we are going to have sizzling summer like heat with temperatures up around 100 degrees in some of the hottest inland areas. and under those conditions, a heat advisory has been issued for most of the bay area for, in fact, for all of the bay area, risk of heat related illness along with that advisory overnight, we'll see some low clouds increasing so that marine layer is coming back and tomorrow morning it'll be out there providing its cooling effect. so that's one reason we'll have a cooler day tomorrow than we had today. let's take a look at our overnight low temperatures. it's going to be mild overnight. uncomfortably mild in some spots where low temperatures will drop only to the upper 50s to low even mid 60s. that's very mild for overnight readings. and tomorrow a cooler day than we've had this weekend, with highs barely reaching 60 on the coast, 65 here in san

let's head off into the east bay real fast and actually spend energy in the north bay too.the 80s in area like petaluma and november toe. tomorrow the return of the 70s. we continue to cool down actually day-by-day as we wrap up this week. especially in our inland areas. you won't notice that cooldown nearly as much along the coast or even close to the peninsula for that matter. today we're at 77 degrees near redwood city and hold on tight to the 80s near fremont this afternoon. we have 80s down into the santa clara valley. and as we head into the next couple of days we'll start to dry up and we'll start to cool down. it's actually really nice. lots of sunshine in the forecast for us throughout the next couple of days and also holding on tight to the 80s through the inland areas up in the east bay. in the north bay return of the 70s lightning i said and for the friends along the bay, even cooler conditions. 60s flirting with 70s as we head into the next couple of days with some partly cloudy skies. that june gloom is just holding on tight to us. we get that morning fog and
