balboa renovation project award a contract. >> good morning, commissioners. my name is -- dj with the capital division. the item before you today is for possible action to approve an award in architectural and engineering contract to renery for the renovation project for an amount not to exceed $950,000. just a background. balboa pool renovation is in the phase of the projects for 2012 bond program. a request for proposal for architectural and engineering services was put out in october of this year. the successful firm will be providing architectural mechanical electrical structural services for the project. the scope of work requested focuses on fully renovating the pool building itself. this includes pool circulation systems, pool pumps and dehumid fiction systems and comfort, new pool locker rooms, possible addition of another program room and renovation of the pool itself. a proposal conference was held in mid-october. the pool itself, with over 30 attendees with engineers. a total of 30 proposals were received in the office this year. a diverse panel th

so the 19th avenue and balboa projects -- we'll be bringing to a final meeting on january 23 so please check our website for that. the potrero hill project also kicked off and we had more than 40 resident in attend ance at that meeting and possibly exploring the idea of a community as shuttle. we've got financial modelling happening in the treasure island study. an exciting study . already great work happening there. so we got really great coordination on that. we also met with neighborhood folks in the district 6 area along the waterfront those neighborhood groups have given us specific input and clear guidance on those types of issues they want us to address in that waterfront assessment. and customer service and efficiency improvements that we talked about we're working with our technical working group sponsors can now request and we can issue amendmented for budget changes on our project and see grants and we're also moving towards electronic invoicing. another piece of good news is that the credit rating was affirmed at double a plus and they gave us a stable financial outlook. th

balboa park is a unique plan because there isn't a lot of fee revenue projected but a very ambitious transportation open space plan. the department will be starting an ocean avenue planning process this year. we've also seen lee avenue completed and the loop is create and the plaza is under construction. mta is leaving a lot of this work to make sure this is implementation. the vegetation valley is an area where not a lot is done, street scape that would connect the commercial corridor approved to the connection park. this is part of our green connections project as well. sort of a summary of where we are, i think this is a good platform where our team's work might go in the next year. this shows on a 10-year basis how much infrastructure we might need to complete in each area versus how much revenue we have generated. rincon hill are generating enough to move forward and other areas we you -- need to identify other funding sources. it's only been about 30 percent. we need to look at what other agencies are spending. we haven't yet calculated the van ness and market brt and improveme

my partner my kids dad is a teacher at balboa school. i'm proud to have our family at creative arts. so my daughter was going to come and speak she's in 5th grade she feel and hurt herself but she was going to talk about being a school ambassador. the kids meet and talk about how to resolve conflict and support other kids. this is part of an overall program they call the peace schools initiate to address bullying. so rather than waiting for bullying to happen we work to foster school atmosphere that doesn't have room for bullying. i have a sensitive child who also comes from an unusual background we have a minority in our family and she's be able to be loved and nurtured and learn and excel at creative arts. i feel like creative arts predates the charter movement to create a place to innovate so i'm appreciative your creating the creative arts a charter way back so thanks (clapping.) is it okay to have one of our other students talk? >> hi, i'm 13 and i'm in eight grad at the creative arts school. the school is a safe environment and i'v
