and the planning department has a village plan for the areas surrounding the balboa park station that includes the carbine and powerhouse and this was approved by the board of supervisors in 2009. based on extensive community input the plan states that the restoration of the carbine and powerhouse will be an anchor for the revitalization of the transit station neighborhood and states that the building will help to create a successful new town center and arts hub around the transthe station. and as was presented to the board of supervisors in 2015, given the high cost of developing the entire building, rec park in partnership with the department of economic and workforce development and the office of district 11 supervisors, and the san francisco arts commission is now pursuing a two-phased approach. and one is the appearance of the building only, and the other is for the office building and the completion of the improvements to the power house. we believe that a phased approach will speed up the activation of the building as well as generate renewed interest from funders in the larger

we have learned the mayor collapsed last night at the safeway on monterey road near balboa park. he was brought by ambulance to san francisco general hospital. we hear he was awake and communicating during the ambulance ride. the hospital staff confirms the mayor was brought in and they did everything they could to save him but they say he died at 1:11 am. workers at safeway say the mayor was a frequent visitor and he would often shop late at night and they say his wife was by his side when he collapsed. coming back to our live picture, you can see there are deputies here. there are police officers on standby at this point in time. we are waiting to hear when they will be preparing to move the mayor's body one final time. we are on standby. we expect that to be similar in nature to what we saw in terms of the procession going from zuckerberg san francisco general hospital here to the medical examiner's office. lampert it will include full orders. that means a contingent from san francisco police and from and the sheriff's office as well as possibly a san francisco fire department
