you are near the ballpark. you are in the fog. you know what this could look like.ood morning. it is pretty foggy out here. right across at & t park. this is the area though ideal this proposed pop up beer garden and venue is. the area could have other restaurants and retail shops as well. i want to go to the artist rendering of what it would look like. it's being named the yard. it's also being touted as a pop up venue because it really wouldn't take long to build. if you look at the rendering there. the beer garden, other restaurants, the developer says they are using about 15 shipping containers from the port of oakland as buildings and even as seating. there are plans perhaps to use this 18,000 square foot area for movies or small concerts. now the developers as well as the team see this as an opportunity to use the space to generate more business for the port but also generate buzz once the plans are finalized for the mission bay project around the ballpark. the space obviously gets busier during the baseball season but they hope this can be used year round. th

i think for those of us who are -- who have been for the last 13 years impacted by the ballpark a lot of the same issues that we brought up with the 3032 arena still apply and that is traffic congestion. how do you get cars away from the arena so there's not a glut of traffic of muni that gets in the way? the warriors call it event management. we call it quality of life. we want to make sure there's adequate funding which there isn't for the stadium to deal with these quality of life issues, including traffic, transportation, trash clean up, all of these things. one of the things that catherine put on the next steps list was addressing those very issues, and while they don't have anything directly to do with the major phase application they will have to do with the approval process. we're also concerned about making sure that this project doesn't take over the neighborhood. we have spent a lot of time working on designs for p-22, bay front park. we know that with the arena there it will have to change. we want to acknowledge the presence of the arena but we don't want it to be an aren
