i'm a product of baltimore city schools, and my mother was a product of baltimore city schools.enerational. this just didn't happen. you felt generations of families. so this is an intergenerational curse when it comes down to our school systems, um, under different administrations, we have still seen the same results of parents failing and unfortunately parents can teach their children how to read if they can't read, um you successfully homeschooled children. but there's a growing movement of parents that want to home school, their children i started coaching parents, mostly mothers, how to home school in august of 2020. these parents were pulling their kids out of school in a panic situation, and they all had different boiling points of what was the last straw. so i put together their curriculums based on online free resources. and going to the public library . what has been developed today is more of a housing program to put the kids in a space for eight hours every day and give them busy work was so both of the parents can work and home school is something that you can do as

that is nearly half of all public high schools in birthmark -- in baltimore in the inner cities which 0% or 1% of the kids who can do math at grade level. this is beyond intolerable. it is a crisis. 53 government schools in chicago , 0% of the kids can do math at grade level. again, all of these are located in the inner city. nationwide, according to a national report, the national assessment of educational policy, the national report card, 85% of black eighth-graders and kids who are 13 years old can neither do math nor read at grade level. half cannot even do basic reading, which means a substantial percentage of black kids in america are functionally illiterate. the democratic party is adamantly opposed to school choice where the money follows a child rather than the other way around because of the teachers unions. there was a study years ago over government school teachers were asked if you have school age kids, where'd you put your own kids? 10% of us have our kids in private schools. 49% of philadelphia government school teachers with school-age kids put their own kids in privat

we have jurisdictions like baltimore city where the support is inadequate because of income. then we have communities that are so isolated they don't have the population to be able to support the water they need without greater assistance. we have different needs in our state and am sure that's true around the country, technical assistance would be very important but also make sure the resources get to those communities. please keep us informed and i will be working with you on that. we think there is a need. how are you implement inc. that needs assessment? this issue of affordability will make a huge difference. it water affordability is a growing challenge in communities across the country and my former role with the u.s. water lines i helped create this water equity inaffordability network. we are going to partner with hhs in the development of that assessment. we're currently designing the methodology for that assessment and it's going to get underway very soon. i'm happy to keep your office up-to-date on how that assessment is going. in addition to that, we are working
