just behind me we're on baltimore pike just past valley road. if you're familiar with this area, this is where that wawa complex is. you can see there's a giant tree that's right here taking up one of the lanes of baltimore pike. you see some of the cars here just trying to use the left lane to get around it. this may become an issue later on this morning as we get into the morning rush. you have a lot of cars heading in this direction, they'll run into this tree that is out here. you see some of the utility lines were taken down by this tree as well. again, we have a lot of power outages out here as a result. you're seeing a lot of debris branches leaves that were taken out by the storm, a lot of heavy winds, heavy rains in this area. delaware county chester county really the hardest hit so far at least in terms of power outages. i've been on the phone with a lot of the counties this morning, especially here at delaware county. they tell me their efforts are winding down for this morning. they're going to leave everything now to peco and the lo

this is baltimore pike at valley road. big telltale sign of the damage at this point are the traffic lights that are out. we've seen plenty of these. traffic lights are out and streetlights are out as well. of course when we drive up and down these secondary streets we see a lot of the homes have generators running. i just got off the phone with a dispatch at delaware confy. they tell me they're pretty much winding down operations for the night on their end. they are leaving everything now to the municipalities and peco. we have a lot of power outages in this area and throughout the region as a result of what happened last night. take a look at video we shot earlier this morning where you can see some of the damage that was caused by this storm. really it's the trees coming down on those power lines, knocking out power to the surrounding areas and there is going to be a massive cleanup out here this morning. all the side streets in middletown township completely dark. however as we take another live look out here this morn

we're on baltimore pike route 1. you can see, really again, no light out here just traffic cones in the distance. that's where we saw a tree down. at this point we're only seeing a few vehicles come down here. they're being merged to the left lane there. you see a lot of the brake lights because of the traffic issue that is going on at this point. just down the road here at valley road we saw many many trees down wires down on that roadway as well. just tree branches leaves everything out there on the roadways. a lot of that debris and hazards in the roads at this hour. we're going to be going around this area throughout the morning showing you the damage. again, this is what we're seeing out here this morning. we've been told that a lot of the work to repair and restore some of the services out here not going to happen until later on when there's some daylight out here. again, as we mention really not a lot of power. you can only hear the hum of generators as you drive through the side streets manly the secondary ro

there's a tree that is down here on baltimore pike. we are just pass valley road. it's takeing out the right lane and part of the left lane. the cars are slowing down as they try to get around this. we every now and then had a bit of a backup. there was a truck with a wide load trying to get through here a little while ago. really had a tough time. the cones right there, that's the only thing protecting the vehicles from running into that tree. it took down some of the utility wires as well. there was a lot of damage caused as a result of this storm. we have video. this is from new jersey greenwich township gloucester county. the gibbstown shopping center. you can see a lot of damage debris out there on the road. the heavy winds, rain, just caused a lot of issues for a lot of people throughout the region. we have a lot of power outages that are out here especially in ] eá we were driving around earlier this morning and we just saw a lot of homes using generators because they had no electricity. a lot of dark streets out here this morning but, again, fortunately bec
