bangladesh has a lot of experience in solving the problem of how you get safe water to rural bangladesh 10-15 years ago, there was a government response, funded by international donors, supported by many n.g.o.'s that did a very good job of getting deep tube wells out into the countryside. our report is that 10 years later, we still see approximately the same number of people, 20 million, who are still drinking water above the national standard. we looked at what did he say happening with the government projects to install deep tube wells. we found three things. firstly, we found that politicians are diverting a large number of tube wells to their political allies and supporters. put simply, they are not going to the people who need it most. this is not a small problem opinion this is a widespread and pervasive problem of political influence. it's also a problem that is in national policy in terms of how bangladesh gives rural water to its areas most affected. >> richard, we're going to have to draw a close there. we're running out of time. we do appreciate you coming on the program and
