downtown bangor was hit hard. several trees are down, and >>> and an estimated 60,000 homes have been damaged by massive flooding. this is in southern louisiana. at least 102,000 people have also registered for federal assistance. that number could change as people assess damage to their homes. the massive flooding started last weekend after several rain heavy days all came together in a row when several storms hit that area. >>> and a pretty active weather night for us in terms of the monsoon activity we have seen over the past few hours. we have had a lot of activity up in the northern part of the state as well, so we are seeing active weather really all across the area right now. when the rain came through it did drop our temperatures quite a bit, you can see here now 83 degrees, winds out of the west northwest at ten miles an hour. let's take a look at the satellite and radar you can see exactly what's going on. zoom in with the computer to get a little closer look at where the storm activity is heading right

look to your north. 72 and bangor, maine, and 58 degrees and caribou, maine right now. you contrast that to the 90 we have in boston. clearly there is a frontal boundary. it is up near the canadian border right now. however, we are on the warm,'s piece right of this -- the warm, sticky side of this punt. a couple showers beginning to percolate back to the adirondacks. as this marches eastward, it will be a trigger for thunderstorm development. i would say between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., if you have plans outdoors, look to the western skies, because that is where the storms will be hiring. the threat torrential rain as well. right now, all is quiet. we saw a good amount of sunshine. there is a breeze in boston. ucb dew point in the low 70's right now. so, this is what it feels like. 102 from lawrence to marshfield. right now, 101. it even feels like the 90's on the cape. temperatures in the 80's with you can see we are at 91 in nashua. notice the clouds are building an by 4:00 this afternoon, right on through this evening, we will he watching for the threat of thunderstorms.
