thank you for your suspect i assume this will be the last banking committee hearing for this congress. i like to express my thanks and appreciation for the works of senators and over the years. thanks to all of them. we discussed the sec enforcement program in previous hearings and on recent meetings. i'm chairman clayton. we've worked hard to return money to harmed investors and i agree that's an important goal but enforcement can begin and end with protecting wealthy investors. ten years ago today, bernie madeoff was arrested and ponzi schemes exist and long doors as you should. we also know a decade ago bernadino yi was far from the -- bernie was far from the bigsest threat to most families. it was wall street firms that wrecked our economy and the sec will work to pursue ponzi schemes and will pursue the harder or complex cases against the big banks when they break the rules and threaten family's homes and savings. i've said to this committee a number of types that my zip code 44105 where connie and i live in cleveland had more foreclosures than any zip code in the united states.
