i had known barack obama for four years just as a human being. and so, you know, before i took the job, i said him, i got to have total access. unfettered access. i can't kept out of anything. and he agreed. well, how did you were the chief photographer for obama and just any photographer during reagan? two different roles but compare two experiences. the men president, the white house itself and the comparison of the role for you. you know a of similarities in the way the white house worked between the two you know things didn't you know i mean i knew how the how the white house worked the logistics of it and it like almost identical with with obama you know just the way the paperwork flowed you know, the way the motorcades work way air force one worked, you know, manifests, knew all that stuff. and that stayed pretty much the same. obviously, technology had changed a huge amount. the logistics were of kind of the same. here's here's the one thing that the two presidents had in common is they both had this even keeled disposition where, you know

despite the that again in terms of his racial or his voiced racial politics, barack obama was remarkably figure who went of his way to say, i'm not a leader for black america, a leader for all america who was remarkably moderate on on issues like affirmative action or others. right. terms of what his stated positions were and i just think that it's very interesting to. look at it and look at it through that lens that that there was this fear. there had this fear that of of losing the country in some ways. right. this is obviously you can't look at the election, obama without contextualizing it in what that point had already been a decades long grapple and fight over immigration and the changing demographics of the country that had for so many white americans this that this country has changed in fundamental ways that that are going to leave us to be the losers. and now you start to see the kind of vitriolic both in a policy but also in interpersonal response to that. yeah. yeah. so just one last contextual and certainly to your point about obama, that, you know, moderates have a way of l
