barbara and i have created what david calls a community space.when people come to politics & prose, they don't come just to shop, but to have a pleasant time, meet friends, rest a bit with a cup of coffee, hear a brilliant lecture about a new book, join with others to discuss a book. we perform a myriad of tasks, mostly gracefully. we give good, prompt service. we have two people who spend all their time ordering books for customers. we have 25 mostly full-time staff helping customers.
