[laughter] i mean, yeah. i've been trying to write about poverty and especially issues having to do with women in poverty for many years now, and i want to say i'm just really thrilled that i have gotten a whole book on this subject because it is not easy to interest the mainstream media in these sorts of issues. and i will tell you one anecdote to illustrate my frustration over the years. this is something that happened, um, a few years ago. i was taken out to lunch by the editor of a well known national magazine which will go unnamed here in the interests of my having a future writing career. and these lunches are really important to freelance writers because very often the cost of the lunch is more than you're going to be paid, you know,
