check with barbara garcia at bph and mental health and get m with this coalition and we definitely need opportunities for contract scpors i don't know what happened to prop 209 but i hope you guys stand up and do a set a side for the blacks because we want to be independent too. we see what is happening in the communities and the money is coming from overseas and we can't compete, the housing and construction and when the kids are falling through the cracks we can't catch them and we need you all to help us. i was invited to mlk from the reverend to participate in the celebration and we went to the classroom and we had them listening to the speech and it was following along with the speech because it was typed out for them. we gave them some treats and goodies because we put kids first. i didn't realize when they were having the controversy when we were brought into the gym they were handing out certificates for the leader who is was being recognized as peace leaders. there were 17 kids called, not one african-american got a certificate. thank god that mike brown came and cave them all

our public health director barbara garcia and transportation director ed reiskin, public works agencis, our wastewater management, our police department, we have all gotten together to say how can we do this smarter with our small businesses, our chinese chamber, our stockton street merchant association and all work together to make this a safer experience for everybody? we came up with the idea that maybe we could simply expand the sidewalk by allowing everybody to use the sidewalk properly, but that the storefronts could have some additional space to offer their goods, when the chinese new years is happening, and when people are wanting to buy all the things that they want to do to celebrate the new year's and to come down here and be safe. so this pedestrian expansion of our sidewalks was the idea that came forward. we piloted it last year as mohammed explain and thank you to dpw's great work, the pilot was successful. it was successful all around, particularly with our small businesses, particularly with our chinatown youth center and the people who are here to protect pedestrians.

>> hello supervisors, my name is m o n e t i had the pleasure of sitting in on a meeting with barbara garcia last night. it was real good and i got to ask her a question because this is something that i am working on i'm not just bringing it up to the board of supervisors i'm actually acting on it as you know san francisco is a very harm reduction city which, is very good. i like that. and with me living in sr o in the harm reduction sr o, that have i guess a contract with the department of health, and one thing that i'm working on is making sure that hiv testing and s ti testing is conin those buildings that are being contracted with the department of healthed because, of one push-back would probably be is that a lot of the agencies that are working with hiv and aids, will lose money. but, if we really look at the bigger picture, what better way to help people make sure that they get hiv testing s ti testing is starting those h r o's that the department of health is contracting with and so i hope you look at this very seriously and take seriously that if people don't woman come to these dif
