barbara hale, a sis tent january manager for power. good afternoon. ~ assistant general manager as the general manager said, i'm going to go over the hetchy system and the benefits that have accrued to the city as a result of it. our customer base and costs, challenges and consequences we're currently facing, and the options we have in front of us for addressing those challenges, as well as what that means, the overall picture means for cleanpowersf as we see it. skew me. so, clerk, i'm going to switch to the other microphone and the overhead. the powerpoint just disappeared. so, from these slides i should be able to go through fairly quickly. it's familiar for many of you. the hetch hetchy system, we're very fortunate to have. it's a system constructed in national park and in national forest lands that allows us to store and convey our water for drinking water here in san francisco and much of the bay area, but it's also very key in providing us with the majority of the kilowatt hours we have in greenhouse gas regeneration. specifical

[speaker not understood]. we've talked a little bit already about some of these issues, but just to make sure the audience here and viewing electronically are clear, power enterprise is san francisco's power provider. pg&e provides services to many residents and businesses here in san francisco, but power enterprise is a public utilities commission is who provides power services to muni, to fire stations, to police stations, our libraries, our general hospital, you know, those essential city services receive their electricity bill from the san francisco public utilities commission. so, when our cfo was talking about the rates and the funding and the revenues, those are rates we are charging primarily to city services, city service providers. we're also charging rates to tenants and businesses located on city

. >> we have a presentation from barbara hale. >> thank you, commissioners, assistant general manager for power. as you know, assembly member amaino introduced a bill that would allow the city to join a joint power authority and also allow certain over-the fence-transaction of electricity to not be regulated. that bill was heard in assembly utilities commerce committee on monday with the vote being picked up at the end of the hearing and moves on to its next committee, which is the local government committee. i understand actually mr. fried was there. i was not. so he may have some additional input for you on that piece of legislations. the second piece is assemblyman bradford's ab 2145. this bill would change the opt-out process that is currently part of the community choice aggregation law and regulatory regime to opt-in process. the bill was not addressed at the hearing on monday. we have not heard if or when chair bradford will be putting it back on the calendar. so that one is lying to the side at this point. >> is there a position the public utilities commission have a position

[laughter] >> but thank you all so much for putting this together so quickly. i think the point of this, as had been mentioned, is to make sure that a lot of the concerns that have been brought up by both the commissioners and the puc staff, we wanted to make sure that we try to address those concerns and put together a comprehensive plan that could actually effectively be implemented and work for the city. so, we're looking at, of course, the bigger picture in the long term and how do we do this and how do we do this thing right and address those did herxctionv. ~ concerns. i, too, got many of the complaints about shell and complaints about how this might impact the city as a whole. we listened and heard those complaints. i think if we continue to work together, we can continue to provide clean power and do it in a cost-effective way for the residents of the city. i think we owe it to san francisca
