this is the district that used to be represented by barbara lee and used to encompass areas like berkeley, oakland, a lot of those communities that run up and down 8, 80 there in the east bay. well, because of redistricting, it's been redrawn to really encompass more areas of the central valley north of bakersfield. and so we're looking at right now, 2 candidates vying to fill this newly drawn district. john duarte, the republican adam gray, the democrat right now, it's a pretty tight race. it is leaning slightly republican with duarte at 50.1% of the vote. only 42% of votes have been counted so far. so we've got a bit to go. but at the moment it's leaning republican right to its south is district. 22 now in that one, the republican incumbent david, while dot of a rudy salas, democratic challenger. and this also was close earlier on. they've started to split up just a little bit, but we're only even less than a 3rd of the votes counted. we'll have to see how that goes. but those that sent 2 of the main account or districts in california, we've been tracking also following at a new mexico,
