allison barber is live to talk about the issues that metro inspectors found on the rails today and fixed. >> reporter: of course the big new out of the press conference that just watched up here a little while ago is that metro plans to open the system again tomorrow but both the general manager and the chairman of the metro board say that the issue that inspectors found as they walked through that hundred mile of tunnels make them convinced that shutting down the system today was the right call. inspectors found 26 areas where jumper cables were damaged or frayed, most of the problems on the silver line and blue and orange line. this he have replaced 18 of those and they are not done. they still have at least eight more frayed cables they fled to relace and about 14% of the system left to inspect. the main concern is getting the line opened for tomorrow. getting all the lanes opened for tomorrow. >> my task today is to quiet the system open by 5:00 a.m. tomorrow. that is what we will focus today. there's a lot more that i have to do to find out how do we get to this position that i foun
