we will continue worth questioning to congressman barrett.ll talk about illegal immigration now. you put that at the forefront of your campaign. you estimate 65,000 illegal immigrants are here in south hal is there any possible way to are in the state? >> it is a best guess. illegal immigration, every state is the order state. you're taking jobs away from south carolinans. we need to do several different things. i applaud jim brewer in arizona because she is trying to take first day back. the federal government has not done that. south carolina can do a couple of things. we can hold our employers are accountable, make sure that who they hire is a they say they are hiring. and we can enhance immigration laws with common sense additional planes like what they did in arizona. and we can implement a plan where we train our local and state law-enforcement officers on how to enforce immigration law in south carolina. we're doing and and charleston it is actually working. we can be masters of our own destiny. >> you say that these workers earn $186

barrett. >> i do agree jobs is an important issue. but putting south carolina back to work, it is it business principled plan about how we turn this economy around with the private sector. how we empower people and not the government. it includes comprehensive tax reform. it talks about education and infrastructure. i hope we get a chance to share those thoughts with you. >> jobs is number one. no doubt about it. we are at a crossroads. if we do not make the right choices now, we will be some. we have been drifting for 12 years because we did not have a plan. i have a plan that will work. i know how to get things done. i am not a politician. i am a prosecutor. the prosecutor has broad authority in this day. i have been leading the state with a record of accomplishment of getting things done. i want to lead us to that path to prosperity. i have the maturity and judgment and credibility to get it done. >> it is important for us to look at the jobs problem. we also have the fact that we did not have the skilled work force for our busines

barrett will face pressure to drop out? guest: absolutely. at this point, it does not look like he is likely to do that. but he also i think in addition to the pressure to drop out, he faces pressure to make this a more positive, more unifying runoff campaign. which is a real challenge because all he wants to do at this point is highlight the differences he has with nikki haley and also what he views as nikki haley's weakness is heading into the general election. host: the analysis for the general election. guest: this is a republican state, a republican year. at this point i would have to say that this is a likely republican hold. host: there was also an interesting house race in south carolina. the fourth kundra -- congressional district, a challenge from the right, tea party organization, that he was not conservative enough. guest: he made it into a runoff but trailed behind his republican challenger, the prosecutor from spartanburg. trailed him by i think 25 points. he still trailed by double- digit. so he heads into the runoff i think as

congressman barrett mentioned that he wanted to make a no new taxes' pledge. which to do that? what's it is a signature that says you are making a promise. go look at what i have done. i have never increased taxes because what used in this important. we saw what meant to stretch a dollar. i am going to focus on how we spend. >> emergency rooms are becoming holding areas for the mentally ill because they have nowhere else to turn. what would you do to address this problem? >> taking care of people that cannot take care of themselves is extremely important. that is a mandate that the state government has. we have to take a look at those core issues. there are some things that government does that it should do in good times, but we need to think outside of the box. is there something that we can do in a public/private partnership. is there something that we can outsource? is there something we can privatize? there are so many things that we can do. >> do you think that mental health this something to take care of? what's absolutely. >> how would you take care of that in the er? wh

that this code applies equally to newly enlisted private and the general officer who commands than barrett that allows us to come together as one. that is part of the reason why america has the finest fighting force in the history of the world. it is also true that our democracy depends on institutions that are stronger than individuals. that includes strict adherence to the military chain of command and respect for civilian control over the chain of command. that is why as commander in chief i believe this decision is necessary to hold ourselves accountable to standards that are at the core of our democracy. second, i have a responsibility to do whatever is necessary to succeed in afghanistan and in our broader efforts to disrupt, dismantle, and defeat al-qaida. i believe this mission demands unity of effort across our alliance and across my national security team. i do not think we can sustain that unity of effort and achieve our objectives in afghanistan without making this change. that, too, as that gutted my decision. i just told my national security team that now is the time for all
