if there is a bart strike, some transit agencies plan to provide extra transbay service including bart, samtrans, sf bay ferry, sfo shuttle, soul trans, as well as west cat. that means in some cases, free shuttles, extra ferries as well as extra stops. bart will hire about 95 charter buses. but with many public transit options don't expect miracles. caltrain, golden gate transit and ferry will all operate regular service. in the case of ac transit, if they don't strike, expect regular service as well with some extra transbay lines if they can manage as well as extra seating. muni buses will also boost its service during peak hours. if you're going to drove, do yourself a big favor if you are going to drive. try casual carpooling. drivers and passengers can meet at designated locations. or you can create a carpool even a vanpool by signing up in advance and using 511 ride watch online. you need a lift, have a smartphone, try out an app like car-ma. it provides realtime carpool matches for departures within as little as 10 minutes. and here's one plus. in the event of a strike, the hov l

bart will offer a free shuttle bus service here is a map of the bart stations where you can get on the bus. some buses stop in west oakland, so you can get off there. others go directly to the transbay terminal in san francisco. thre are new stops in concord and san leandro. if there is a strike on monday, the buses will run from 5 to 8 in the morning. the evening commute starts at 3pm and takes you back to your orginal location. however you must have a round-trip ticket. there will also be limited free parking at the bart stations. san francisco bay ferry. will again offer extra service. from its locations in san francisco, south san francisco, oakland, alameda and vallejo. there will be 13 vessels running instead of the normal eight. the ferries do extra trips across the bay. you can pay with your clipper card. parking lots filled up fast.so see if you can ride your bike there or get dropped off. a/c transit is not adding any extra buses. but current buses will do extra trips. a/c transit will put their biggest buses on the busiest routes. stay with kron 4 as we continue our coverage

the bart contract talks. the clock is ticking. negotiations between bart union workers and management resumed this morning, with help from a state mediator. today is going to be the last time the parties will meet before that temporary 30-day contract expires at 11:59 tonight. no word yet on exactly what time talks are resume this morning. but the two groups are meeting beforehand. about 2600 union workers say they will go on strike if they don't have a deal. yesterday, bart and union leaders spent more than 13 hours at the bargaining table. negotiators are not giving specifics about exactly how far apart the two sides are. the core issues continue to be salary, health benefits and safety. both sides say progress is being made and they are working hard to avoid a strike. >> i will tell you that both unions are working very hard to try to avert a trike. and we hope that the district matches our eithers. >> all three people are working very hard to try and get this worked out, trying to make sure that people, when they wake up monda

bart will offer a free shuttle bus service. a look at the stations where you can get on the bus. some stop in west oakland, others go directly to the transbay terminal in san francisco. there are new stops in concord. the evening commute starts at 3:00 p.m. and takings you back to your original location. however, you must have a round trip ticket. there will also be limited free parking at the bart stations. the san francisco bay ferry there have 30 vessels running. they do extra trips across the bay. you can pay with your clipper card. ac transit is not adding any extra buses but current buses will do extra trips. ac transits will put their buses on the busiest routs. they recommend working from home if you can in case bart workers strike monday and they say car pooling is the next best option. kron 4's charles clifford has more. >> reporter: every weekday, 270,000 cars go back an on the bay bridge. 92% of the vehicles have just one or two occupants.by compari 150,000 people use bart to cross san francisco bay everyday. so if
