a bart train derails right in the middle of the busy friday afternoon travels. >> a bart train endingts run for the night jumped the track between pleasant hill and concord during the friday evening commute causing delays and headaches for bart riders every where, on the same line and general area where two bart workers were killed while inspecting the track back in october. there was no passengers on the train tonight. on the phone is bart's spokesperson. what made this happen? >> an out of service train was ending its route, and as the train operator was leaving the station and crossing over an interlocking, several of the wheels came off of the truck, the front view trains is what came off. there will be an investigation into this, and the puc is on the scene as well. >> what is required to get things back to normal? those pictures are pretty scary to look at. >> we need to bring in heavy-duty cranes to get the train back onto the track and out of there, but there is extensive damage to the track and we are predicting all day tomorrow and through the day and evening we'll be doing

in a statement to kpix 5, bart said as per policy and protocol, bart police has initiated the properon into this incident. the video has been forwarded to the independent auditor for bart police. now, bart police policy says that the only use it when it poses the immediate danger to the officer or other passenger using a taser. >> that man was book for resisting arrest and public intoxication. he also had a warrant for a parole violation. >>> getting another check of your "kcbs traffic," vanessa on twitter likes the fog this morning. she says yes, it is a foggy day. you can see the tweet right there. you can see also see some of the fog this morning if you are coming through oakland. northbound and southbound 880, everything appears to be moving okay into downtown oakland. different story on city streets in oakland. we are following this serious accident. we are sending a crew to the scene, 14th of at east 30th. it sounds like a truck ran into several other parked cars. injuries are likely. expect some delays around that intersection. both streets it looks like are partially blocked.

9th passing through san bruno bart station. we have more on this video and the controversy, tara? >> reporter: the woman witness who was on the train at the time of the incident said the man who got tasered was talking to her and while she was uncomfortable, she at no time felt threatened. it happened on a southbound train headed for mill bray. he believes a woman is being harassed and he politely asked the man to step off the platform so he can ask him some questions and when the man yells he refuses to compliant that is when end gets tasered. the man was drunk, harassing passengers and had repeatedly refused to get off the train. then more cops come on and he tasered him again. the man who passengers say passengers called robert was arrested for public intoxication for a pore real violation car parole violation. bart's taser policy was reimplemented after the ross core grant scooting says the only time they can use it is if they pose a threat to a bart police officer's life or another person's life and we will tell you what b

kpix 5's anne makovec is at the el cerrito bart station where one bart rider may have infected millions with the highly contagious disease. anne. >> reporter: that rider went between this station which is the del norte station to downtown berkeley. but the exposure may go way beyond that area because the virus can travel through the air and live for up to two hours so people who ride bart different lines different times may also have been affected. during the morning and evening commute is when this 20- something year old student rode bart last weak tuesday through friday. then he went to class at uc- berkeley. the student was not vaccinated and was likely infected with measles during a recent trip to asia. >> if this individual had been vaccinated and was exposed to measles abroad would not have been infected and would not have brought the disease to the united states and all this would not have been happening. >> if you or a loved one might have been exposed and have not been vaccinated, here are the symptoms, blobby rash that starts -- blotchy rash that starts on the face or neck, fe

a bart rider with the measles may have exposed thousands of other passengers. kpix 5's andria borba now reports on the student responsible for that health scare. >>> reporter: the potential patient zero for a bay area measles outbreak a 20-something cal student who got the virus on a trip to asia and rode bart while contagious. >> we know residents and people in the area may have been exposed to measles. >> reporter: the student took bark from the el cerrito del norte station to downtown berkeley from february 4 to 7 during the morning and evening commute. with an average ridership of 400,000 a day, that's 1.2 million people who may have been exposed to the measles. in years past, this wouldn't have been a big deal. everyone was immunized, no questions asked. this is berkeley in 2014 though and many parents opt out of the mmr vaccine. at one berkeley school only half of all kindergartners have been immunized. many parents are like actress jenny mccarthy thinks vaccines cause autism. >> i have always vaccinated. some people don't but i feel for the -- it's for t

setup: bart taser-natvo ".taser taser taser" controversial videos of a bart police officer. tasing a passenger. and they have some critics leveling charges at the bart police department. of excessive force and racial profiling. tonight, kron 4's dan kerman speaks with the chief, and we hear from a woman on the train first, we begin with grant lodes. he is here to show us the dramatic videos. grant. we'll get to the videos in a moment.but first.the mug shot of the person who was tased. robert asberry was booked at the san mateo county sheriff's office in late january.asberry was released this morning. at the time of this incident there was a warrant out for his arrest. now.let's take a closer look at the the videos. "taser sound ends" the first vido shows the initial tasing up close. the second, different video shows the second tasing from a distance. police say they got a call on january 29th about a drunk guy harassing people on a bart platform. when police get there, the suspect is not on the platform, but they find a man matching the description on the train. its asberry.

amy hollyfield is at pleasant hill bart with more on this. amy?ook at this platform full of people waiting for a train because there are major delays this morning on bart. a bart spokesman tells me they are working on the problem and they do not know when they will get it fixed. they have a train control problem so trains are in manual most so they going slower and when it first happened they held the trains for 12 minutes so they could try and reset the train control computer. that is why there are long are delays. here comes the rain, however, when they get on it they will have a slow ride into the city. i had the spokesman if this is because of the rain and she said not really, we do have problems during heavy rain with bart but they are blaming this on the aging train control system. today, it is a situation of pick your poison. the roads are wet. there have been several accidents this morning. if you choose bart you are going to be facing major delays. >> the latest power outage numbers is another problem we face this morning shows some progr
