in a statement, bart, police chief at alvarez said our surveillance cameras show two adult males arguing near the elevator at approximately 1 40 pm before one individual stamps. this second individual the stabbing victim walked down the stairs into the station and subsequently collapsed on the platform, ktvu learned the victim is a 30 year old, who was stabbed in the chest. police are still searching for the suspect who left the scene. this act of violence follows several high profile and concerning incidents on bart. just two days earlier, a man was shot on a train at the fruitvale station in what police call a targeted attack. and less than two weeks ago, a woman was groped and punched on a train in the middle of the day near the elsa rito del norte station. after that attack, bart's police chief spoke to us about safety measures in place. we have a lot of things in place to make sure that people are safe. we have cameras on our train cars. we have cameras on our platforms. we have trained operators tha

bart officials just gave us a briefing on this shooting a short time ago. let's get right to this breaking news and ktvu christian captain, joining us now live from bart headquarters in downtown oakland. christian? what have we learned? yeah here's what we know. so far that police briefing just wrapped up in about the last 5 to 10 minutes or so they tell us that one man was on board that train when he was shot by another man at the fruitvale station to suspect we're hearing got off the train at the fruitvale station, the train that made its way here to the lake merritt station where we are right now, right across the street from bart headquarters here in oakland. that's where that victim received first aid. we also spoke with a witness who was on board that train and she did not see the shooting or hear it, but she describes the scene immediately afterwards. we had stopped and we saw someone running into our card and then running back away and we were trying to figure out what was happening. there was a little bit of shouting but couldn't really make of it

we did just hear back from bart representatives. they say the chief, maybe speaking about this later this afternoon. but they said, ask for any release of any surveillance video or even a still frame or picture of the suspect. from that surveillance video. they are checking with their detectives to see what the best course of action is in their investigation. live in san francisco ali rasmus ktvu fox two news at 905 right now. oakland police are investigating after a man was found shot to death. he was found early yesterday morning outside of a car that had crashed on part boulevard in brooklyn avenue. police believe the victim was the driver of the car, and they believe the shooting may have happened at another location, and the victim actually drove to park boulevard. before he died. a motive for the killing under investigation right now. no rest have been made and the name of the victim has not been released. it is, by the way, the fifth homicide in oakland just since friday. we're learning new details about a deadly stabbing in

ktvu christian captain joins us live from bart headquarters with an update from bart. officials say christian yeah, this is a convoluted story. so we're going to walk you through it. the shooting actually happened at the fruitvale bart station that this the police are telling us that the suspect actually got onboard shot. the victim at the fruitvale bart station got off the train at the fruitvale bart station. the train, then made its way here to the lake merritt station. police say they were actually receiving 911 calls as that train was in transit from one station to the other by the time the train arrived here officers were able to reach that victim about a minute and a half of the train pulling into the lake merritt station. that victim was taken to highland hospital with at least one injury to his arm. the police chief tells me that the first officer on scene was able to apply a tourniquet to that man's arm. the way police describe it. this was not a random shooting. it doesn't appear to be, uh, a random act. it appears to be a targeted act. and the reason i tell
