another issue here how long does bart? how long does it take for bart to change a light bulb? we've learned that bart has been sitting on 2100 new lights meant to improve safety by brightening tunnels in san francisco. those lights have been sitting for six years. the tunnels, as you can imagine, are dark. this is a bart tunnel in san francisco. in 2018, bart signed off on a $12 million plan to make the tunnels brighter. workers would install double the amount of the existing lights. that way, operators could see better and passengers could evacuate quicker and safer in the event of an emergency. but as of today, bart has yet to install most of those lights. sometimes i do look at some of these things and say, gosh, you know, that's pretty. that could be pretty absurd. joining us now is our investigative reporter, jaxon van derbeken. i guess we start with a simple question why are they sitting on these lights? what's happening? it's essentially a very long story. the bart board authorized this $12 million plan to put the lights in back in 2018. two years later, there were ques
