bartz.: good morning. now, bartz likened her situation to steve jobs's return to apple in 1997. he needed some time to turn that company around and i need time, too. the vast difference being that people did not feel she had the results to keep her around here at yahoo. she emailed staff yesterday telling them she had been fired over the phone by the board of directors and that she was the third ceo actually in four years at yahoo. she was criticized for her pay package which hit $39 million in 2009. her first year at yahoo. it dropped to just under $12 million last year following poor company performance. most recently yahoo had setbacks in its partnerships with microsoft and its search engine and with its investment in chinese ecommerce company ali bab ba. industry analysts say she was never the popular choice to become ceo. >> she didn't bring on board a team that was loyal to her and in reality, who would she have brought? it was a different company which think was one of the big indicat
