the incident forced many trains going toward the east bay to turn back. trains from southern stations ran through without stopping. >>> in oakland, the highway patrol is investigating an officer-involved incident that killed a pedestrian. the fatal crash happened last night, as the officer was riding his motorcycle on mcarthur boulevard. the highway patrol says the victim was running across several lanes of traffic and the officer could not stop in time to prevent the crash. the 43-year-old woman from hayward was pronounced dead at the hospital. the officer was treated at the hospital for his injuries and released. >>> oakland police are investigating a double shooting that killed a man and injured a second person. police say just before 6:00 a.m., a street fight broke out on birch street near 89th avenue. someone opened fire, killing a 22-year-old man and hitting a 24-year-old man in the leg. the injured victim was hospitalized. according to police, both victims lived in the area and they may be related. no arrests have been made. >>> now to the race for
