south bay.nset and it looks like that line of rain starts to fall apart, becomes more scattered, so we're not going to see as much rain in the south bay as we'll see in the north bay. some of our rainfall estimates show as you move south of the golden gate bridge, you're looking at about a quarter inch of rain, and it could be up to a half inch, maybe even three-are the quarters of an inch toward ukiah. the next storm system that will be here on wednesday, it's going to bring us more rain, looking at most of us getting about an inch of rain especially for the east bay for the peninsula and northward. it's going to be windy, with that second storm system arriving on wednesday, and then it tapers off on thursday, and look at that, weekend forecast, after a rainy week much deserved weekend of warm weather and sunshine. san francisco highs reaching into the mid to upper 60s. and mike, you've got a big deal happening in the south bay. >> but not the good kind. not like the weekend you're showing. a c

most of the bay is looking great.re may be slick roadways, we had a couple spinouts reported including the one i'm tracking north 87 at 101, just shy of the merge, but no slowing there and no problems for much of the bay. castro valley is where we have the problem for westbound at 580, really slowing headed up toward redwood road and off the dublin grade. we'll time out a drive on our waze system, westbound 580 out of dublin and getting toward the san mateo bridge, we're mapping it out at about a half an hour. waze can save you about five to seven minutes as you make your way cutting that corner, but you are still stuck in some of the backup. if you use waze, join nbc bay area wazers, it will track the slowing for your commute. getting back to our normal traffic system, the rest of the survey, we have a smooth flow of traffic through the east bay, contra costa county, just the backup at the bay bridge toll plaza, of course. a live look shows you no problems, the earlier issue potentially for a distraction with lights

the north bay seeing the rain first. as far as the rest of the bay area. let me sew you what the doppler radar is showing right now. you can see the storm already approaching and if i zoom in a little bit closers, this is where you can tell that the storm is centered more off to the north. the north bay will get the majority of the not jus overnight but into tomorrow. we're expecting to rain to move in around the 11:00 hour and then get heavier for the north bay. north of the golden gate bridge sees the majority of the rain overnight. tomorrow afternoon expecting it to go southward. this is ant big wide spread storm. as the system begins to move south we're going to see it diminish and scattered showers for the south bay. a closer look at exact time line for that. temperatures also going to drop in some places maybe 9, 10 degrees compared to today. but overall we have another storm expected to make its way in. and looks like that one is going to packis also going to bring more snow for sierras. monitoring all the weather happening of course. i'm going brin

mid-60s in the south bay and our inland east bay neighborhoods.s will be in the upper 40s to low 50s. the north bay in the upper 30s to mid-40s with a little more clearing there. potential for some fog to form. let's jump into future radar. here we are. about 9:00 away. light to moderate rain in the north bay. it remains steady through noon. there could be scattered showers ahead of it. pockets of light rain, no doubt. that's where the steady rain is. after noon, it moves into the rest of the neighborhoods and notice how it shrinks in coverage and not as much yellow, moderate as we head through the evening commute. as the front stalls to the south overnight, we have a chance in the east bay and south bay of showers there. that's pretty much our best chance tomorrow. also, you can see most of us will be dry for the better part of tomorrow. so for this storm, let's see where we land at 8:00 this evening. just about everybody with rain. notice places like san jose, livermore and brentwood not much, if any at all. the rest of us .25 to .5 inches. in t

area, the south bay is doing well.have the peninsula, no crashes to report in through there or east bay for the most part, fremont is doing okay. we did see a crash just pop up and chp is reporting a crash along northbound 880 near the embarcadero exit. a vehicle may be in some lanes and also reporting a tow truck is on the way and is required along with a bit of a traffic hazard, which means there could be some debris out on the roads. as far as the speed sensors go, we're not seeing slowing on our speed sensors so hopefully since they're on the way, they can get this cleared out in time and doesn't look to be an injury accident which is great news to hear this early in the morning. let's look at the live cam in oakland. we can see some slowing on both sides of the northbound and southbound 880, so expect a high volume of commute in through this area, but hopefully they get that accident cleared out within the next couple of minutes. i'll send it back to you. >> thanks, vianey. 4:49 right now. >>> in danville, dozens

we've got a look at the bay area, crash at the peninsula, east bay and a crash in the south bay and all started to show delays but again, a little bit of good news, and this one a crash is cleared along northbound 101 at whipple avenue, not seeing any delays, so the peninsula is clear, smooth and steady. you don't have to rush to head out the door. but the east bay things are starting to slow down along southbound 880 at whipple road. we have three vehicles and the number two lane you can see the crash right here, and then just behind that, delays past the 92 interchange also in the south bay. looks like they haven't cleared out from that earlier crash, this crash happened i want to say about an hour ago, maybe even more, southbound 101 at santa clara street, the lane remains blocked, and that is starting to show some delays as well. we can expect to see hopefully some clearing now that the tow trucks are there. we'll get an update in a bit and the metering lights are on at the bay bridge, ten minutes from westbound 80 toward the bay bridge. back to you. >> thanks, vianey. >>> happening

this morning it was sunny in the south bay and raining in the north bay and then san francisco. so that's kind of a weather to see over the next couple of days. at times raining off and on. here's a live look outside in palo alto. we hold steady in the mid to upper 50s with a light wind and this is our break from the next storm that will be movg as ouremar reach into the upper 50s to lower 60 seen the light moving through as the next storm reaches closer to the bay area. but there is a lot going on here on the satellite imagery. we have the swirl of clouds, this area of low pressure moving close to the bay area and we have a long line of clouds that's just to the south and that's targeting san diego. this is actually the atmospheric river and what happened last week? two systems just like this merged together and created some really heavy rain over the bay area. but this time around it looks like they're disconnected so we are not expecting this to merge into a big storm and cause an atmospheric river. at this point, though, we will still get some rain and won't have the let's g
