thom jensen, nbc bay area news. oakland city leleaders sa the impending closure of four fire stations is on pause for now. three other oakland fire stations have already closed and are expected to reopen in june. it's all because of a massive budget deficit. in response, the city has implemented a hiring freeze, canceled two police academies, and introduced the brownouts of multiple fire stations. now, city leaders say those policies have reduced the projected budget shortfall and opened up new funding to keep the four fire stations open. looks like last week's email from elon musk to federal employees was more than just a one time pulse check. sources tell nbc news that some federal employees have gotten a second email from doge, demanding bullet points of what they have accomplished. this is a screenshot of the email. employees at the department of education, office of personnel management, and the federal bureau of prisons say they got the second message from musk's department of government efficiency. the email

but in the 30's across much of the bay area, whether it's the north bay, the east bay, the south bay,ning, those winds really died down, still maintaining 25 mile per hour gusts in the dead of a future rainfall totals. we've got a chance of rain almost every day this week, except for tomorrow. and the rain accumulations not terribly impressive by friday. we'll see just over an inch of rain in eureka about half that amount. mendocino they head toward fresno. 1.3, 5 inches of rain and even more than that in bakersfield. 1.8, look at the numbers in san francisco and the bay area. san francisco, 5, 1, hundredths of an inch of rain from today all the way through friday. that's the accumulation. and about the same in oakland, santa rosa parks, a poultry, 2, 1, hundredths of an inch temperatures now mainly in the 50's we found he was in from the 40's will start to rise a little bit again this afternoon, but not much most areas will stay in the 50's. so here's the rainfall accumulation. snow in the sierra one to 4 inches on the crests for us. it was really paltry accumulations in the bay area

as you can see in the east bay, i believe.fog trying to work its way back into the picture. so overnight tonight, if you're waking up early, that fog could impact visibility. so just be extra careful out there as we've added that to the forecast tomorrow morning. temperatures will be in the 40s to start things off, and there's the chance we'll see what happens. we could have a dense fog advisory issued for portions of the bay area. so a cooler saturday as this system marches closer to our coastline. this will eventually produce some rain showers as well. so here's the plan this weekend saturday clouds and then some sunday off and on. showers with the possibility of a thunderstorm. this will also impact the sierras. well, this was the sierra today looking at all the blue sky out there. but we have some changes. the winter weather advisory begins saturday night until 1 p.m. on monday, and snowfall could be right around 5 to 10in. so here we go tomorrow morning. low clouds, some areas of fog out there and then into the afternoon
