, the bay area is taking notice, especially b.a.r.t.he transit agency is working with local law enforcement to beef up its security. we bring in nbc bay area's jodi hernandez who joins us in oakland. what can we expect in the next several days, and will we be able to see this heightened security? >> reporter: raj, if you're riding b.a.r.t., you're definitely going to notice that security has been stepped up. the tsa has teamed up with b.a.r.t. police to keep trains and stations safe, but it's not just here. extra security has been stepped up all across the bay area. it's all hands on deck at b.a.r.t. this 9/11 weekend. police officers, bomb-sniffing dogs, and federal homeland security agents patrol b.a.r.t.'s platforms and trains. >> at least i know that they're on it. it lets me know that, okay, they're acknowledging and taking care of the problem. >> there's no credible threat to the region that we've been notified of or has been communicated or identified. we were constantly aware and vigilant of any upcoming information. >> reporter

we get right across the bay area.ight now high pressure is going to keep it hot with hazy conditions and poor air quality inland and throughout thursday, it's going to be the transitional day where we will get fog back to the coastline that will cool us down. but for tomorrow, across the east bay, for tonight, upper 06s throughout the east and south bay. for tomorrow, close to 100 and 97 in evergreen and in san jose, in the hills of los gatos, 93 in palo alto. as we look at san mateo, 73. low 80s in san francisco and tongue town. for the east bay, san ramon, into walnut creek and pleasanton. we can expect mid-90s and of course a few isolated triple digits and more mid-90s in the north bay. morning time on cable, which you'll notice, fall arrives at 2:05 on friday. that's pacific standard time, you guys. we do it pacific time here. everybody cares about the east coast but i care about the pacific. >> that's a clarification. >> yes z. 70s and 80s. everything is on the east coast time. >> oh, my goodness, ooh-la-la. >> o

there's that temperature drop, anywhere from 15 to 20 degrees today, across the bay area. the largest differences here across our bayside communities and the peninsula, 67 for your high in san francisco and 72 in oakland. but as jessica mentioned in the east bay, it is still hot today. we did have 90 degrees in livermore, and then those temperatures mixing on out as the fog has started to move back into san francisco. right now, 71 degrees in downtown. and look at this, from oakland towards san francisco, we have a marine layer of about 2,000 feet. you can't even see the city skyline here. that is an impressive marine layer, starting to roll on in. knocking temperatures down here to the 60s across the entire peninsula. so high pressure that brought us the heat, it's packed its bags and it's moved quickly here across the central u.s. now we have two other systems we're going to be watching here, as we head into our upcoming weekend. for tomorrow, upper 50s and low 60s. and by 10:00 a.m., that's it. 66 in livermore. 60 in concord, and 65 in santa rosa. and a real quick look a

nbc bay area's garvin thomas is at the scene. garvin? >> reporter: diane, this is an area of alameda county, the closest municipality i guess would be sinole. just off 680 for frame of reference. if you know where the castlewood country club is that is close to here. as you said, family members and friends of michele le have been searching this area for quite sometime. investigators led them to believe that she was last tracked to this area. one of those search teams found a body. we're not sure whose body it is but they found a body this morning and alerted hayward police who then alerted the alameda county sheriff's department. investigators right now, crime scene investigators are in the woods deep in the woods looking at the crime scene. the body is still there. they do not know at this time if it is the body of a man or a woman. the body is actually too decomposed at this point to make that assessment right away. the crime scene investigators are looking at the scene. they haven't disturbed the body at t and the coroner will come in
