this true for most of the bay area. take a look at what it looked like earlier as it rained in san jose. then came the hail. now that is the sound of more hail coming down in san jose. over the weekend, it looked a little bit like the east coast. nbc bay area's chief meteorologist jeff ranieri is here with a look. i know the kids loved the hailstorms. >> a lot of people mistook that for snowfall. but it was hail. we had a storm system move across, and really lower the cold air here across the bay area to such a low level that you get just a little uplift in the atmosphere. it froze as hail and rushed back to the ground. we have the second storm system that moves across today. it's been very isolated in nature. those of you that did get rainfall and hail reports, from those of you who didn't. most of that coming from the south bay. i still think over the next two hours we may have a little bit of activity pop up across the south bay, the peninsula and the east bay. that's about it. things are winding down as you can see

that's all we need in the bay area to see a rise in temperatures. winds coming out of the north and the east. you'll be able to see in the forecast for tomorrow, 88 degrees expected in the north bay, an average of 86 in the tri-valley and 87 in the south bay. not only near rord setting highs tomorrow but close to all time record setting heat for march. we have high pressure in control. that's the other dominant feature. it's going to last through tomorrow. but then throughout friday's forecast it will be a small change here and that's mainly some cooler weather beginning at the coastline. so san francisco and the beaches, you have primarily one day and that is tomorrow to enjoy that coastline and then numbers will begin to fall. you can see across the south bay it stays enjoyable throughout the weekend, cooler weather on saturday will be mild well above average. peninsula, 74 on sad. and san francisco, warmest day is tomorrow we drop to 70 by saturday. upper 80s tomorrow, friday, 81, saturday 77, then we see numbers go back up a little more on sunday

bay at 61. we can show you that again here on our few tour cast. can you see once again widespread areas across the northern coastline down through san francisco an for the east bay. as we head through the day, sunshine in here. alpleed alalameda, santa clara, marin, and let's look at saturday. we yb the fog of the coastline helping to moderate temperatures. we have so much hot air aloft we should get up to 76 in san jose. yes, in pacifica, and in san francisco, 60s all around. for the north bay, east bay and tri-valley bb 80s in napa. oakland at 70. for tri-valley also a round of upper 70s. throughout saturday and sunday and we go warmer here in san jose as we head through sunday's forecast. above average on monday tuesday and wednesday. for san francisco, warmer sunday and we stay in the 70s all wait through tuesday's forecast at this point still no rain in the extended forecast but there may, maybe, hope bit second week of april. we are tracking airport delays. if you are leaving this weekend for some sort of holiday, 95-minute delays at jfk and right now clearing out delays in miami.

we'll start with patchy areas of fog across the north bay and san francisco and the east bay. even patchy areas of clouds across the peninsula. into the forecast as we head throughout the next 24 hours. again, the big headline is the fact that the storm system is beginning to exit off to the east. that will leave us with mainly clear skies up above. but tomorrow morning with relatively calm conditions down to the lower surface light winds. we'll see areas of fog develop. namely across the south bay. also for the peninsula and back towards the east bay. by all accounts we should clear out from this fog as we head throughout 11:00 in the morning. that will leave us with warmer temperatures throughout the day. the micro climate forecast as we head throughout thursday. 74 degrees expected in san jose. los gatos at 75. for the peninsula, it will be cool on the coastline with 66. back here towards palo alto 74 degrees. for san francisco and downtown, 72. the marina at 69 degrees. for the north bay east bay and the tri-valley, it will likely pop up at 76 degrees in napa. a warmer day

we have a little shower activity lingering over the bay area. things are starting to clear out. g good. we picked up 0.6 inches, a pretty impressive total. this storm system came through quickly. highest totals came in the south bay mountains. out near danville blackhawk picked up just under 0.5 inches. not too bad on the peninsula. here in the south bay, where we got rain shadowed by the santa cruz mountains, about 0.1 inches. i want to show you this time lapse from tiburon. showers from time to time, very light, if anything at all. then intervals of clouds and sun throughout the day today. as we head throughout about 4:00 looking towards more sunshine than clouds. and looking good for maybe another round of rain. depends on where you live. for tomorrow morning, best chance stands for the north bay mountains. areas in sonoma county. i think we'll see activity as far south as san francisco. then the pattern changes entirely. that heat will crank as we head throughout end of the week. specifically talking about thursday and friday. but watch this steady climb for the next five day
