bay area consumers. chris chmura hits another benchmark at the same time. >> in addition to achieving the $400,000 mark, we just recently received our 3,000th complaint. the calls for help are constant. we're opening about 17 new complaints per day on average. our team has built a stockpile of consumer gripes, a one-of-a-kind database that gives us a unique look at what's driving bay area consumers crazy. after opening 3,189 cases and looking for patterns, i can tell you the topics we are tackling are simply all over the map. there is no one sore spot. consumers are hitting brick walls everywhere and asking us to helhelp. we are finding we consistently receive complaints about four industries each we're, contractors, airlines, car dealers and cellular phones. wireless is complained about most. roughly 6% of all of our calls involve a problem with cellular service. the good news is we're finding cellular companies are pretty responsive to us. if you have a consumer complaint, we'll take a crack at it. you

the rest of the bay area should see rain wednesday in to thursday. u can see it turns rainy for the south bay as we get the subtropical moisture out of east of hawaii aiming in on the bay area. that is thursday morning. as the system moves on, cold air drops in. snow levels as low as 3,000 feet in a few spots by late friday in to saturday. so the three-day rain event for tuesday, wednesday, thursday looks to be mainly for the north bay. san francisco northward on wednesday and then thursday will be the wettest day for the entire bay area. that is wednesday in to thursday morning. look at the high temperatures, low 50s and patchy frost for the valleys next weekend. >> seeing freezing temperatures for lows. >> looks like it. >> it is a san francisco tradition that is for a good cause. the salvation army and compass real estate are partnering for the ninth year collecting toys for needy children in the city. the fund-raising began on monday. they have $140,000 of donations and are doing well. the toys will be distributed to families starting next week. >

much what we have been seeing the past couple of days across the bay area. now, in terms of estimated rain totals we are tracking a second storm system that will make its way in on monday. estimated rain totals for friday in the l.a. area over a quarter of an inch. by the end of the weekend, they are expecting that rain to carry over into saturday and sunday. look at this, they could be seeing about an inch of rainfall out there. here in the bay area, though, we're not seeing much rain. at least not through sunday heading into monday, though. and tuesday we are seeing a second storm system that is going to arrive from the north. and with it, bringing a cold snap, which means we could see record lows across the bay area. here's a quick look right now at your new year's eve day planner. by 10:00 a.m. 44 degrees. as i said, we could see that light rain. by 1:00, mostly cloudy skies and by midnight we're ringing in the new year and temperatures in the 40s and:00 on new year's day when we could see the scattered showers. over the next seven days, pay. this is when
