but our storm ranger is tracking an incoming storm set to slam parts of the bay area. meteorologist kari hall is issuing a microclimate weather alert and timing out what we can expect as "today in the bay" starts right now. good monday morning. hope you had a great weekend. i'm laura garcia. >> i'm kris sanchez. marcus washington will join us in our next hour. first kari hall is tracking more rain. >> yes, we are seeing our next storm approaching. this will not be anything compared to what we had last week, but the ground is already wet and we are going to see am additional rainfall causing a few more problems out there especially as we head out late tonight into tomorrow and temperatures a little bit cooler in the north bay where that rain arrives first and we'll see our high temperatures there reaching into the mid-50s but some mid-60s for the south bay as wee looking to see that rain until later on this evening. as we go through the time line once again, rain first moving into the north bay, later this afternoon, and then spreading in as we head into this evening so

widespread through the bay area. once we hit about 1:00 p.m. the north bay and then some heavier rainfall developing over marin, napa, sonoma counties by 5:00 p.m. that rain is stepping off to the south once we hit 7:00 p.m. so i think over all the north bay would have the heaviest rain fall. as this heads to the south bay you can see it is gradually starting to break up. the santa cruz mountains getting some of the heaviest rain and by 11:00 p.m. we'll get rain for the south bay. we'll see this out of here fast once we get into friday morning. rainfall totals on this as i talked about would be the highest in the north bay. half to about 3/4 of an inch. san francisco and the east bay on half about 0.5 inch. then the rain shadowing down toward san jose, a little bit of a hole on the rain totals so only trace amounts to about 0.2 inch. as the storm moves in tomorrow slightly warmer air out ahead of it so that is why our morning temperatures won't be as cold as we've been used to. plenty of 40s over the south bay, peninsula, and the tri valley. i t

that cold front moves across the rest of the bay area. the south bay will be the last to cash in on that rain as you are looking at that rain and wind arriving by tonight. so lets show you as we look to the south bay in san jose right now, currently in san jose it is 48 degrees. mid to upper 40s to low 50s at this hour. as we take you hour by hour and you can see on future cast that rain arriving as we look to the north bay first. that cold front will move north to south so there we go with the heaviest rain and the strongest winds with the actual front. this is at 3:00 p.m. as we stop the clock again at 7:00 p.m. that is when that rain moves across the rest of the bay area and by 10:00, 11:00 p.m. that rain across the south bay. we are looking at any from a quarter to 3/4 of an inch of rain with this system. so some beneficial rainfall. let's check in for a look at traffic and its slow going through the south bay this morning. >> yes, it is. lets say good morning to san jose. brake lights northbound 101 as you work your way from that 286,

the bay area will remain dry because we have high pressure dominating in our forecast. s look at your daytime highs. it will be the warmest day out of the week. upper 60s in the south bay. san jose, 68 degrees. milpitas, 68. morgan hill, 68. in through the east bay, oakland topping out at 65 degrees. concord and antioch, upper 60s, possibly low 70s. 65, san mateo. even san francisco expected to top out in the mid-60s. how about 70s in ukiah and clear lake. we have high pressure system dominating. that's been keeping us dry and warm. if you notice looking towards next wednesday into thursday, we have an approaching system. and that's going to bring our next chance of seeing rain in the forecast, which means the possibility of more snow. so i'm pushing this timeline. this is way out ahead into thursday, friday, next weekend. look at that. sierra snow might be in on the forecast once again. and that could mean of course dangerous travel conditions. for now, look at your seven-day forecast. notice the temperatures staying warm through tomorrow. we start to see a decrease as
