temperatures for tomorrow morning, i don't really see too many differences here across the bay area. ill start off cool for everyone. low to mid-50s here. south bay at 53 degrees, right over the east bay 54. 56 in san francisco. and the north bay at 53. daytime highs tomorrow, it's going to bring us probably some of the best weather in recent memory. no smoke, temperatures are dropping even more. that will leave us in concord with 81. just days ago you had temperatures in the mid to upper 90s. napa 73. 60s here from san francisco to oakland. and then 70s from palo alto right over to san jose. so we have the temperatures dropping. that is the first great thing. the second thing is that rainfall is holding in the forecast. now it doesn't look like big rainfall for the bay area, because the way the storm system is dropping down, it's going to break apart by the time it gets to us. i can show you that better here in my rain forecast, and you can see by saturday night, the storm system lines up to the north. and once we hit sunday morning, we'll get a chance of showers there sunday morning

we will take it with whatever wants to visit the bay area. temporary is high-pressure takes over into early next week, which means warmer temperatures, offshore wind will develop, escalating the fire threat by monday and tuesday, maybe lingering into wednesday. let's focus on the good news which is that slight chance of rain, which has been getting less slight. now in the 5050 chance north of the golden gate from saturday night through sunday, as we get closer to the schematic confidence continues to grow. everything keeps pointing in the same direction, there is even the chance that some showers make their way further out of the north bay with san francisco's rain chances up to 40%. not too much of a chance this makes its way into the inland portions of the east bay or into the santa clara valley, but any rain showers in september will definitely take it. if you took us with trace amounts of rain, you can around these down to zero. less than a 10th of an inch along the coast, but again, we will take what we can get. this has no cloud to grou

for the most part, good to moderate around most of the bay area for tomorrow. this is the forecast outlook. as we head into the weekend, i think we'll get locally unhealthy around the inland north bay, lake county, and possibly down along the diablo range where a weak sea breeze may be good enough to keep san francisco, the coast, and the inner bay seeing moderate air quality. cool start to the morning. 40s and 50s outside. temperatures start the upward climb tomorrow, not so much around san francisco at 67 degrees or 73 in oakland. it's livermore and concord seeing upper 80s tomorrow, and san jose close to 80 degrees. high pressure will strengthen. that is the lowering ceiling we'll be talking about that could trap more smoke as we head into sunday and monday. notice those temperatures too. saturday, low 90s inland. by sunday, mid to upper 90s for the tri-valley and areas south of san jose. very interesting ten-day forecast. spiked temperatures monday for livermore. similar trend for oakland. but watch the drop. it's almost like going off a cliff there, monday

this speed up a little bit, but overall holding the better rain chances off to the north of the bay areaght there by 11:00 a.m. on saturday, rain over eureka. then once we hit saturday night there is the possibility we'll get spotty showers right there over the north bay. and then the best chance for bay area showers would come as we head into sunday morning and then it breaks up for sunday afternoon. so rainfall totals, excellent news right there in the fire lines. a quarter to three-quarters of an inch there right across the northern mountains. for the bay area, spotty drizzle chance, isolated shower as we hit sunday morning and we get some 70s in san francisco by next tuesday and wednesday. for the inland valleys, 70s this weekend. then it does warm up to the upper 80s and low 90s as we head into early next week. so let's just hope this is the beginning of a very active period. it does look like as we roll into october, raj and janelle, we could see some additional wet weather chances coming our way, so here's to that. we like to keep jeff busy. >> bring on the rain. thanks, jeff. >>>

get that jacket because the bay area will be impacted by the chill. we have temperatures in the low to mid 50s from the tri-valley to the south bay. some fog near the bay. the thickest right there in san francisco. we'll start with 54. as we roll through the afternoon, the temperatures continue to look very comfortable. after the upper 90s earlier this week, we are back down to the 70s and the 80s for the east bay. 75 in martinez, 82 in livermore, same thing for santa rosa and napa. near the coastline of the bay and wus. we got temperatures on drop and here comes the rainfall chance. check back in the data last year. it took us until november, mid-november this weekend. so. much earlier than last year. here's the time line. 11:00 many other saturday, the storm system lines up with some rain in eureka. the bulk will be to the north. i think by saturday night, we could have some spotty showers over the north bay. the best bay area chance of showers is right there sunday morning. so firefighters off to the north. certainly going to get the biggest benefit

nbc bay area's damian trujillo is at the registrar's office in the most populous count in the bay area. it looks active behind you. >> reporter: we're in the back room of the registrar of voters. the votes come in from the different precincts around santa clara. they're being processed here. they're broken up into different precincts so that the sorters who are behind me in this vast room, the registrar of voter's office, they ship them to a different area where they are able to open up these envelopes. they'll check the signatures on the envelope and then they are processing them and getting ready for counting. this is not a very long process. they've gotten used to the technique here in the registrar's office. why are we behind the scenes? the registrar is a firm believer in transparency. they want you to be able to see what it is that they go through, what the ballots go through. the safety mechanisms that are in place to make sure that there are no irregularities. so they have to make sure, they wanted us to be here to show you at home what it is that they go through. this is a liv
