they say this storm to our north that is going to inch its way closer into the bay area overnight. increasing our cloud cover. but we are going to see some light scattered showers as early as monday afternoon. for those of you in the north bay drive for everyone else in the bay area and those showers going to hang tight mainly in the north bay, widespread light to moderate rain by monday evening. at 9 o'clock still dry for the rest of the bay area. so once again, this is going to be an overnight storm as it shifts to the south and east after midnight that some are going to notice some light scattered showers throughout the san francisco peninsula heading into the east bay by around 2 o'clock in the morning. and then by 4 o'clock tuesday morning. >> it's going to shift even further east, mainly for those of you in the south bay until it exits by around sunrise on tuesday morning. and that's the first or the second round. that one will arrive wednesday afternoon for those of you in the north, it is going to be a stronger storm and it's going to peak wednesday night all the way through

we're going to start it off here with temperatures in the 40s across the bay area. areas of fog right near the peninsula. also into san francisco to start. we're down to 49. north bay here at 46. daytime highs tomorrow stay pretty stable. very similar to what we experienced for today. just going up a couple of degrees. so down in the south bay, it will leave us at 73 in san jose. 74 up to milpitas. right through the east bay, i have got some isolated heat here, back to antioch and concord with some upper 70s. out the martinez, 72. the peninsula some 70s. you have to head all the dayway down to palo alto to get that. meanwhile, in the mid 60s in san mateo and 50s at the coast. san francisco stays in the 50s from the marina to ingleside. downtown 63. and maybe headed up to the north bay. i'll have it at 70 in novato. 74 here in santa rosa. the extended forecast, i really think at this point we'll see some of the warmest weather here as we hit sunday. just small changes in san francisco, up to 65. slight chance of drizzle on a monday morning. nothing big. and we're loo

nbc bay area's tom jensen reports from foster city with a story you'll only see on nbc bay area. >> reporter: the victim told us this happened about 1:00 in the morning as he returned home to his foster city condo complex. and he saw an suv idling with its headlights on about 30 yards from his garage. >> i pulled in. i was going into my house. he backed up here. >> reporter: he doesn't want to share his name but he does want to tell the story about how he was ronald at gunpoint. some neighbors and others in foster city are aware it could happen here. >> i thought, i'll hurry up and park my car and close the garage to be safe. as i was closing the garage, a woman came under the garage door with a black ski mask on, holding a gun with an extended magazine on it. >> reporter: she quietly demanded to tome car door and then she said, open the door or i'm going to shoot. he said he didn't have anything. >> i tried to close the garage door on her to scare her to run away. what was going through my mind at this time was, she wants more than money. >> reporter: he said he didn't want the woman to hur

the wind will change direction for parts of the bay area as we had through the day tomorrow. further inland it will be an offshore breeze. temperatures will be significant for inland parts of the north bay and east bay. northwesterly wind will take the cooler air over the bay into the santa clara valley. san jose will still be about 5 degrees above average. along the coast, the wind will be from the northwest, instead of straight from the west. which does make a difference in terms of how much temperatures warm up along the coast and around the bay. everyone's temperatures should end up about 4 to 8 degrees above average and the really warm air arrives later on this week. looking outside as the fog, this is as thick as it will be as we look out from our hotel, it will diminish to run tonight, we will not see nearly as much tomorrow. the onshore breeze keeps temperatures cool for most of us but we made it into the low 70s for concord and santa rosa upper 70s tomorrow. san jose almost hit 70, 60 degrees on the button for cisco, pacifica on the mid-50s. even along the coast i thi
