yeah, it's going to be really hot all across the bay area today. usually that's the place where we all go to escape the valley heat, and as we take a look at this heat advisory that's in effect for parts of the north bay in orange, the bright pink is the excessive heat warning, which is basically a step up from a heat advisory. and this is where temperatures will go over 100 degrees for today. so it's going to be dangerously hot with a cool morning start. temperatures in the low 50s in much of the north bay. we're at 50 in santa rosa and it is right now 55 in danville. notice that some spots are a little bit warmer, and that's usually where the wind is moving through a little bit more quickly. that keeps those temperatures from dipping as fast. and then as we take a look at our highs for today, 103 will be the high in martinez. we'll see that as well in napa as well as novato. san francisco also will be hot today with highs in the mid 90s. and there may be parts of the city that make it close to 100 degrees in san jose, 100 today and 109 in gilroy.
