so here are the areas under the wind advisory the north bay mountains, diablo range, east bay hills, santa cruz mountains. here's the timeline on the peak wind gusts after midnight tonight, 6 a.m. tomorrow. those areas in red and purple indicating wind gusts on the higher hills there of the north bay and the inland east bay above 45mph. mostly a saturday event. then, as we head into sunday, the wind speeds start to back off as we wrap up the weekend. so the wind advisory starts things off on saturday, mostly 40s around noon we got sunny skies, dry conditions, those offshore breezes probably running for the chapstick. at times it's really dry as you get the humidity crashing down below 25% across those inland valleys. temperature wise though, pretty pleasant outside with numbers staying in the low to mid 60s this weekend. now keep in mind this is normally one of the wettest times of the year for the north bay. we usually average a quarter inch of rain per day. instead, we've got this blocking ridge of high pressure corresponding to the fire danger to the south, and the reason why there

winds are regularly gusting to 30 to 40 mile per hour range for us in the bay area. it's really just a nuisance to what is going to be a beautiful day with a few high wind watch is in effect for the north bay mountains. wouldn't be surprised to see a few more of those being issued, especially tonight into tomorrow morning. this cut off low right here, similar to what we saw last week dragging in this very dry offshore wind. and that's that fire danger continues to be critical in southern california. areas like pacific palisades altadena in these areas in yellow, orange and red indicating heightened fire danger. it's a pairing of the dry wind, the low humidity and just the warm, dry conditions that has been just completely unimpeded by any sort of winter rains in southern california. any sort of smoke being sent offshore. so there's at least one plus to this wind. it's keeping the smoke away from temperatures in the 60's pretty much across the board. that includes san francisco, the coast, the bayshore and our inland areas. this weekend we had gorgeous feeling weather
