we'll see a mix of se 30s and 40s across the bay area. that will get us down to 40 here in the south bay, up to the north bay. we'll be right there at 37, san francisco 44. and as we move through tomorrow afternoon, lots of 60s here across the bay area. so i think overall here across the bay area, it's going to be a nice afternoon on your tuesday forecast. it will leave us with 63 in san jose right here across the east bay. we're coming in with 64 in walnut creek, 62 in fremont out to daly city, 60 down to palo alto, 63, san francisco, 59 in the marina and 60 in the ingleside. up here to the north bay, 64 in santa rosa. rainfall chances still no good news on this front. january can be one of our most active months, but this area of high pressure. this is the main reason we'll stay rain free from any big storms. as everything goes way up towards alaska and canada, it looks to be situated here through the next ten days, so we may not get into larger rain chances until early february. right thehere in th 7-day forecast. we'll keep it dry this

people in the bay area are stepping up to help in any way they can think of. with the images coming out of l.a. it didn't take long to realize this was going to be a major disaster and help was going to be desperately needed. westgate church in san jose began an emergency donation drive thursday and by friday they collected enough to fill a semi truck donated by a local trucking firm to be delivered to a nonprofit relief hub called the dream center. >> everybody came together, community, faith communities, engaged citizens, trucking folks. everybody came together and it's just beautiful when people are willing to be compassionate and empathetic. >> reporter: the same thing was happening in oakland where joodooboo, a korean tofu restaurant, became a collection point for more essentials. that shipment went out sunday thanks to a caravan of volunteers. >> we all have friends and family in affected areas. we all know what it kind of is to be in an area that's heavily affected by wildfires. >> reporter: people are putting whatever talents they have to work to help

so be careful parking anywhere around some of those locations around the bay area. with your car or you could see some inundation there inside the bay. meantime, though, we are also tracking some winds. the winds are going to get within again. some offshore winds going to be kicking up specially over the mountain tops above 1000 feet or so. some stronger gust of 40, maybe 50 miles per hour possible. not as windy down below but will be breezy at times around the entire bay area for tomorrow and probably start to back off as we head in towards sunday. again, high pressure sitting on the pacific ridge kind of flooding out. we've got this low pressure center that's kind of rolling over the top of it as it begins to drop to the south. all of a sudden, we're going to watch those offshore winds kicking up again. unfortunately, southern california going to see another wind event. they're not a strong as it's been, but they'll get breezy again for us. we're going to watch those winds kind of kicking up as we head through the night tonight and tomorrow afternoon, those winds g

here's what's happening in the bay area. minor coastal flooding is possible through noon today and that flooding is due to high tides, which will be about 8.35. for this morning basically and we areas maybe around the coastline of the bay shoreline, possibly some low lying roads, you know, parks parking lots, places like that. so that's a minor concern. also wind advisory that's in effect through tomorrow morning for gusty winds. 20 to 30 up to 50 in some of the hills. in fact, when this first went into effect, that advisory, we had 54 mile an hour winds at 10 minutes later around healdsburg offshore flow continues throughout the weekend with periods of strong wind. get clear, dry weather and some very cool mornings. so here's the area of the flood advisory. you see right ringing the entire san francisco in san pablo bays heading up into sonoma county. parts of napa county and even marin county high wind advisory. you bet that's in effect for parts of the north bay, the east bay hills, santa clara hills, and also right throug

and the bay area sent a lot of crews. in fact, there is one from crockett. 're working in the altadena area on the eaton fire. and this is these are some pictures of their engine that they sent. plus for firefighters with that engine to help contain fires there. bryn county has also sent a bunch of responders. they deployed some search and rescue team workers over the weekend and here they are gathering. this is a team that's working on the eaton fire and they add grim task of searching for survivors and looking through the rubble and seeing if there are any hazards there. there. a team of 30 that they just sent other fire departments that have sent their crews, including from alameda county, san mateo county, as we showed in napa county and the san francisco fire department, too. >> ok, well, yesterday we told you how the san francisco spca was waiving adoption fees to help make space for pets coming from those down caught in the wild. fires are trying to free up the kennel space for those. the agency is my taking their pets and then the fire victim. animals

so here are the areas under the wind advisory the north bay mountains, diablo range, east bay hills, santa cruz mountains. here's the timeline on the peak wind gusts after midnight tonight, 6 a.m. tomorrow. those areas in red and purple indicating wind gusts on the higher hills there of the north bay and the inland east bay above 45mph. mostly a saturday event. then, as we head into sunday, the wind speeds start to back off as we wrap up the weekend. so the wind advisory starts things off on saturday, mostly 40s around noon we got sunny skies, dry conditions, those offshore breezes probably running for the chapstick. at times it's really dry as you get the humidity crashing down below 25% across those inland valleys. temperature wise though, pretty pleasant outside with numbers staying in the low to mid 60s this weekend. now keep in mind this is normally one of the wettest times of the year for the north bay. we usually average a quarter inch of rain per day. instead, we've got this blocking ridge of high pressure corresponding to the fire danger to the south, and the reason why there

these 19 dogs and 11 cats of all shapes sizes and ages are coming up to the bay area from shelters in los angeles. the mission critical reason that we're bringing them back up is that the shelters in the la area, as you might imagine, are completely overwhelmed. overcapacity over their full limit. the san francisco spca says these dogs and cats were all living in los angeles area shelters and up for adoption prior to the fires down there. the best thing we can do to help them. >> it's actually clear out the animals that are in the shelter now and have been in the shelter. >> because that leaves room for the fire victim animals to burn injured. the separated animals to get help. close to where they while donations to pet rescue organizations are always helpful. >> adopting one of these furry friends is the ultimate goal. we need people to adopt the animals that we've got up here so that we can go down and take some more. >> in stages from la and to help people with that, we actually just launched a free puppy promotion. so that's helping move a lot of puppies really quickly giving a sp

but overall, it is just 2 of air quality for us across the bay area. into the 70's today. at this hour. we're still 10 degrees cooler in santa rosa and yesterday at this hour, 11 degrees cooler for nevada. so we're down in many areas, but little bit warmer by along the coastline in places such as half moon bay up a few degrees. so the temperatures right now he's stepping outside 50's even some 60's. 45 concord? 56 in fairfield 40 to santa rosa and 53 degrees in the database will continue warming up throughout the day courtesy of high pressure. here's the area of high pressure and that is causing the offshore winds to continue. not only earlier, but also today into later this week. and right, there is an area of low pressure. it's cut off from the jet stream. so it actually they itself separate and it came right down, california right down the state of california. and it's going to help tighten up the pressure gradient once again. so those offshore winds, the santa ana diablo winds to kick up again because as this gets closer to our area of high pressure

winds are regularly gusting to 30 to 40 mile per hour range for us in the bay area. it's really just a nuisance to what is going to be a beautiful day with a few high wind watch is in effect for the north bay mountains. wouldn't be surprised to see a few more of those being issued, especially tonight into tomorrow morning. this cut off low right here, similar to what we saw last week dragging in this very dry offshore wind. and that's that fire danger continues to be critical in southern california. areas like pacific palisades altadena in these areas in yellow, orange and red indicating heightened fire danger. it's a pairing of the dry wind, the low humidity and just the warm, dry conditions that has been just completely unimpeded by any sort of winter rains in southern california. any sort of smoke being sent offshore. so there's at least one plus to this wind. it's keeping the smoke away from temperatures in the 60's pretty much across the board. that includes san francisco, the coast, the bayshore and our inland areas. this weekend we had gorgeous feeling weather

hey, we are looking out there at what is a another offshore wind event this week for us in the bay area. it's a nuisance for southern california. it is a huge threat for further growth of those fires down south. we are seeing those strong winds as well. but here in the bay little momentary com at the embarcadero, my last time i showed you this view, those flags were just pushing in that strong wind. we've already seen 50 mile per hour. plus gusts in areas like the east bay hills gusts right now anywhere between 20 to 30 miles per hour. we're definitely seeing high wind advisories in the north bay. wouldn't be surprised to see these expanded for other parts of the bay area were also under some frost advisories for the inland east bay in particular. double. and you're down at 39 degrees right now. some 40's and 50's for most of the rest of us today is going to be another mild day with crystal clear skies. no fog anywhere in sight. highs in the 60's. >> right now. all right. on the eve battle cables, high wind advisories. make sure you take easy. if you are traveling over those bridges. 10

you can watch it right here on nbc bay area starting at 7:00 in the morning. the man convicted of an infamous kidnaping in vallejo has now pled guilty to more home invasions in the south bay. matthew mueller was convicted in the 2015 kidnaping and assault of denise huskins. vallejo police originally dismissed that case of a hoax earlier this month. investigators linked mueller to more burglaries from 2009, in mountain view and palo alto. todayay, muelle pled guily to those charges. prosecutors say the investigation was only possible with the help of huskins and her husband. they've used that experience and turned it into a force for good in collaborating with police departments to make sure what happened to them never happens again. it was through that collaboration earlier this year with detectives, with chief nick borges in seaside that this whole investigation reopened. mueller now faces life in prison. he is scheduled to be sentenced next month. we're back in 60s, just ahead. we investigate the breaking issue on bart trains during wet weather, how? bart is
