well, uniting the bay area through sport, that is the mission of the bay area host committee, a nonprofit to showing off the region to the world. first up, as i mentioned, the nba all star, the first of three global sporting events in the bay area. i chatted with former san francisco giants world champion hunter pence, who still lives in san francisco, on his favorite places to take visitors, and his role on the committee. there's going to be over 500,000 people visiting the bay area. you know, the nba all star game. there's going to be the fifa world cup and super bowl 60 coming next year. never been done before. you've been tapped to be on the advisory board for the bay area host committee. because of what you've done for your sport and the positive influence you have on the community. what's your role on the board? we have these open conversations of asking everyone, how can we do this better? what is it that we want people to see? how can we make this happen? and one of the other things that the bay area host committee is really invested in is how can we create opportunities for jobs,

bay area contingent. joining me now to talk about super bowl 60 are san jose mayor matt mahan and bay area host committeeresident and ceo colleen jan mohammed. welcome, you two. thanks for being awake with us this morning. you're there on someat of a reconnaissance mission, so to speak. colleen, let me begin with you. what are you paying attention to in new orleans to bring back for the super bowl experience here in the bay area next year? yeah. it's so good to be here. and welcome to new orleans digitally. we have been here for a few days now since tuesday. the nfl puts together a pretty formal host city program where the future host city comes in. we have two days of meetings and they literally walk us through everything. we see all of the official nfl venues. we have a full classroom day where we go through, you know, the things that you don't see and you don't visit. and so i'm taking notes on a lot of things. we have legal pads full right now. the nfl has expanded super bowl exponentially since the last time it was in the bay. so there's a lot to learn as we think about bringing it back next year. y

there is a delegation in new orleans that includes members of the bay area host committee and the 49ersr janelle wang spoke with the 49ers president and the ceo of the bay area host committee. you both are at super bowl 59 right now in new orleans, hopefully having a great time. but let's talk about super bowl 61 year from now at levi's stadium. i want to start with you. what is cooking behind the scenes? yeah, it's such an exciting week for us. like reality right? as we kick off one year out to super bowl 60, we have a great week planned with the nfl and the new orleans host committee. they're taking us through a basically a crash course or, you know, training session over the thursday and friday, a lot of meetings with them. and then on monday, we have the official handover ceremony where the commissioner will literally hand off a ball between new orleans and the bay area, and you folks will be there for that transition, that handover. that's right. we're going to be there. al and i are going to be up on stage. we'll have jed york with us. mayor mahan and the host committee board chai

it's one of three big events the bay area host committee is helping bring to the san francisco bay areaarations for that event are already underway, and we're getting a look at the uniforms players will wear during the all star game. the jerseys draw on the vibrant cultures of san francisco and the bay area, and a little bit of retro flair. we're also getting a first look at the court design, which features the golden gate bridge. we spoke with the host committee president this morning about this excitement and how it's building for all these events. it's going to be a busy 18 months. we have an nba all star game. as soon as we get back, we turn around and do that together with the nba and the golden state warriors. and then we have a year and then we host the big game in in at levi's stadium and across the bay for super bowl 60. and then right after that the fifa world cup. so much going on. so members of the bay area host committee are actually in new orleans right now for the super bowl. and while they're there taking notes, we're also going to take part in a handoff ceremony on mond
