so the bay bridge richmond center fell bridge and further to the south across the san mateo bridge. all these areas had been working as some early for out from that initial back up at the bay bridge. and that's also all backed up at points this morning. this is where we're sitting at the bay bridge right now. it's going to take about 10 minutes longer than it normally does from the maze to fremont street. that is certainly better than the near our. it took you to make this crossing earlier on this morning. so big improvements. but do expect that way before you get to the toll plaza all the way through the maze, the san mateo bridge. i've been watching it improve gradually over the past 30 minutes here. things are starting to roll a lot quicker. but as you get closer to san mateo itself, that's when you start to slow things down over the high span there on the western edge of the bridge, the richmond center fell bridge a 15 minute drive. much better than it was earlier, but also taking it just a little bit longer, but definitely an improvement from earlier james. all right, john, tha

bridge. if we were going to see it in the heart of the bay, it's the bridges where you will encounter issues. it's really inland valleys. concord, 0.3. you can only see 0.3 of a mile in front of you. in the north bay, a mile and a half for petaluma. sounds good but it goes back and forth. up a little, down a little. if you are in the north bay, plan on hitting patchy fog. temperatures are fine in the mid 50s. it feels good except for that blue bullseye in concord where it is in the mid 40s. if we just look above readings on the ground here is the cloud cover. this does not change. watch futurecast play forward. we will be socked in with clouds again pretty much all day. you are not going to get a lot of blue sky, not today. tomorrow you will but only by the afternoon. friday afternoon we get breaks of blue sky after the rain. that's really the highlight of the forecast. tomorrow morning is rain. let me get through today's daytime highs which are fine. no major differences from what you have been experiencing, mid to upper 50s under cloudy skies today pretty much bay area wide. let me show you

and i guess the bay bridge isn't alone. we've got john with a look at the forecast area wide. good morning, john. absolutely not. james. all are bridges affected by that fog and especially bay shore south and north bay areas are really in the midst of that dense compacted fog. it doesn't take long once you're heading above the bay to venture out of it. it's a very thin layer of it. >> but we are seeing it pushed into the bay by this inversion layer set up right above us. and if you look really close, you can actually see the towers of the golden gate sticking up out of the fog at bridge level. you're in it. but those bridge towers are right above it. that shows you how compressed it truly is just pushed right into the bay. otherwise skies are actually fairly clear for some of our inland areas out into the central valley. we are seeing another dose of tooley fog. so we are seeing some inland fog, but it really is that bay shore up into the north bay missing some of the densest of it this morning. not to worry, though, we do tap into a good dose of sunshine later on today. really
