york city where a u-haul truck, a driver has reportedly struck several people on a sidewalk in the bay ridge neighborhood of brooklyn. police say several people have been injured and the driver was stopped by police near the entrance to a tunnel leading from brooklyn to manhattan. tom winter has the latest. tell us what you know so far. >> sure, so that u-haul was apparently driven by what is described as an asian male in his 60s. that individual is only being called a person of interest and is in police custody. the nypd bomb squad is on scene to sweep that truck to see if there is anything inside that they need to be concerned about. but i think that it is important to note that at this time nobody has indicated to us that the individual who is responsible for this or may be responsible for this was guided by any sort of ideology, something that we'd refer to as terrorism. we don't have any indication of that. police are not calling it an attack. it is just an incident that occurred and they are trying to determine what the motive might have been for this if there is in fact a motive or if

bay hills. the highest ridge tops are 1500 feet high. snow could be as low as 1000 feet. it would not be too impactful but it would certainly catch your attention. the bigger impact is down in the santa cruz mountains. highway 17, where it goes over the summit, the past is at about 1800 feet and there is a highway, there. that could be the bigger impact for snow, but, that is down the road. let's go in order. tomorrow, it is cold wind, and after this gorgeous three day weekend, that will catch your attention. tomorrow is the first alert weather day, you will see why for the wind advisory, bay area wide. scattered showers begin tuesday night through wednesday. showers then become more numerous into thursday and friday, and that is when the cold air comes in, that is what we will watch for the possibility of snow in some of the hills. we will go over this in more detail. i will show you why the storm is put together in such a unique way coming up in your first alert forecast in just a few minutes pick >> i love your details, you definitely give us that. layer after layer. t

down to about 1000 feet, you could get a light dusting of snow on some of the higher ridge tops there through the east bay hills. that would get a lot of attention, people would be talking about it but it would not have a huge impact like snow in the santa cruz mountains. you can see where you get some oranges and yellows on here. on some of those higher elevations on the draw through the santa cruz mountains, we get snow that could accumulate to a couple of inches, maybe, if this comes together. that takes us from thursday into friday morning, that window. so, we will be watching this very closely. we will be fine-tuning and refining the forecast on this as we get closer to it. there are other things to talk about, though, in terms of what is coming our way. snow in the sierra, obviously, this is from tuesday to thursday, but, that will be relatively high, until we get to wednesday night, when the colder air comes in. then, if we take it from wednesday through saturday, we can see how much more impressive the snow gets, not only in the sierra, but that is when we would get our chance, here. so, tomorrow,

ridge mall. the robbery ended in gunfire. here is "today in the bay'sdrey asistio with what we know. >> reporter: the 20-year-old jimenez died at regional medical center this past saturday after he had been shot at a home on pepper way. police say at the time of his death jimenez was facing robbery related charges in an incident that led to a shooting inside oak ridge mall back in december of 2021. the incident caused panic, forced hundreds of shoppers to shelter for hours. it was one of the busiest shopping days of the year. jimenez and another suspect had robbed a man of his jewelry. the man he robbed had a gun and shot at them multiple times. the suspected robbers and shooter were all arrested. jimenez was eventually released from custody pending his next court hearing for later this month. as for the deadly shooting in san jose this past weekend, police say they did arrest a suspect and they're still investigating a motive. this is the third homicide of the year in san jose. audrey asistio, "today in the bay." >>> 4:52 right now. bay area politician
